That probably started it. I just never really liked them that much and their fans were intolerable here in anything Ducks related after 2017 they were so salty and cry babies. Not all but a lot like any fan base would have some trolls.
Ahh that's unfortunate.
But not that uncommon for HF to create hate from one team to another just because of a fanbase on a forum.

Just as an fyi, I wanted you guys to get Bedard.

So McDavid has won more games in a row with the Oilers than Wayne Gretzky ever did? That's pretty impressive and shows everyone that McDavid knows how to win!

This streak has been awesome to watch, but as always, context needs to be provided.

Gretzky and the Oilers had numerous streaks broken by ties.

I picked out each instance that was an unbeaten streak of at least 11 games during Gretzky's tenure with the Oilers.

2/6/82 through 3/2/82: W, W, W, T (last time there was no OT, let alone a SO), W, W, W, W, W, W, T (9-0-2; Potential 11 game win streak)

12/14/83 through 1/11/84: W, W, W, W, T (first OT year), W, W, W, W, W, W, W, W (11-0-1; Potential 13 game win streak)

10/12/84 through 11/9/84: W, W, W, W, W, W, T, W, W, W, W, T, W, W, T, W, W (11-0-3; Potential 14 game win streak)

10/11/85 through 11/9/85: (12-0-3; Potential 15 game win streak to open the season)

An additional 11 game unbeaten streak 1985-1986.

So almost like you have nothing to base your "suspicion" that Helly is stealing games is based on nothing at all?
I mean there is reason to believe that when you look at his goals saved above expected. He leads the league. But that's also not unusual for him to be near the top in that category so its probably not something we're likely to see change. The rest of the Jets roster is a good team. They're probably not the best roster or even top 5, but when you factor in elite goaltending they're getting those kind of results. At the end of the day the Jets will go as far as Helle goes, and the same is true of Edmonton with McDavid. If the Jets had to ride Brossoit they would probably start to show cracks in their armour just like the Oilers would if McDavid went down.

… and to add… if they would have had 3 on 3 OT back then. Man, that would have been great to watch.
Shift 1: Gretzky/Kurri/Coffey
Shift 2: Messier/Anderson/Huddy

… actually, probably wouldn’t be a shift 2. 🤣

Amazing streak. I didn't expect the Oilers to be able to come back from that awful start to the season and challenge for 2nd in the Pacific (or even 1st if the Canucks falter).

Nope, Canucks have been consistent all season. Oilers just on an unsustainable 12 win streak, they will lose soon. No team has won 52 games straight
They've won 20 of their last 23 games... thats 30% of the season right there.

Everyone including oiler fans know the team is going to lose soon and aren't saying otherwise. Meanwhile you actually think the Canucks will sustain their current shooting percentage and save percentage for the entirety of the season.

The latter is slightly more likely but the chances of either happening are incredibly low. I thought it was funny at first but now it's just sad that you still can't wrap your head around it.

"NO team has won 52 in a row". Weird, I remember there being push back when people were saying "no team has had 106+ PDO for a season". Historical trends only matter when they apply to teams you don't like I guess. Cognitive dissonance is a hell of a drug.

why is elite finishing seen as a negative? edmonton fans keeps bringing up shooting % as an insult for some odd reason.

when the Canucks sucked during the benning/green era we outshot a lot of good teams.. and guess what, we still lost those games.

edmonton fans coming out of the cave after the Canucks nearly ended their season in October and talking trash is amusing.

only casual hockey fans and fans from the frozen tundra are impressed by this 12 game winning streak.

the most impressive win in this streak as against a struggling Leaves team with garbage goaltending.

the last time edmonton played a contender they got rolled by the Panthers.

oh look, the Canucks are on top of the league again... something a certain team with multiple high picks and a generational player couldn't do. :sarcasm::popcorn:

Great assessment. Thanks for your contribution.

Its not. It's that no team in the past 20 years has shot even close to that % over a full season. It's actually hilarious how defensive you guys get at any notion that maybe just maybe this current pace for the Canucks isn't sustainable.

This is the first time Canucks fans have come out from under their bridges since the Sedins retired and Vancouver just lost to the Blue Jackets, sit this one out, it ain’t about you.

You said the latter is more likely yet you think I can't wrap my head around it, so which is it?? We have sustained that shooting percentage for 45 games but you won't sustain that winning streak.

I find it qu

You just proved his point.

Seriously though, stop getting so worked up about an Oilers win as it is not good for your health.

The Oilers fans still salty about losing to Canucks 3 times this season so they had to find a way to discredit Canucks somehow and found it in shooting percentage and PDO. Too bad for them, they don't know when that goes down to the "mean" but they keep bringing it up everyday which is hilarious.

You are getting more worked up about the fact that I said Oilers can't sustain this win streak for long.

The difference between acceptance and denial is very evident in this thread ;) I think an Oiler jersey would look great on you, you seem to be cheerleading in enough of their threads.
