Tavares on the ice in OT at the same time as McDavid is just asking for a loss.

Whatever, I’ll take 7/8 points out of Alberta

Leafs 1.4 expected goals, 6 high danger chances
Oilers 2.25 expected goals, 13 high danger chances

team can't play 5v5 hockey, relies on hot goaltending and a PP converting twice the league norm

Can't win em all. Oilers were the better team overall tn. At least Andersen salvaged a point for us.
 
Remember all the people who say, "The Oilers will always be a threat because they have the best player in the league"? Well that's what happens sometimes. We just got McJesus'd. There's stuff that we did well and stuff that we did badly, but there's not really a whole lot more to it than McDavid popping the f*** off and winning a game single-handedly. We got a point out of it, so there's not much point to the inevitable 40 pages of drama that are likely a result of it.

Tavares had the jump early to start the year, aka 2 weeks ago, and notwithstanding the 2 points he put on the board and great looking stats line, it looks like he’s playing the game in snow boots.
 
Don't blame Andy... Jesus... he wasn't great but he wasn't bad.

Muzzin blew chunks.

Looked like a team ready to go home.

Take the point and move on. Not great but it could of been worse after it was 3-1.

Edmonton is shit without McDavid... so I actually feel bad for them still.
 
I love JT, but as soon as I saw him out there against McDavid 3 on 3, knew we were in trouble. Struggles, at times, keeping up with speed in those situations (despite the moments when he comes through).
 
This team really needs to turn things around. They can’t spend 2 periods hemmed inti their own zone, giving up last 30s of every period, and expect to get meaningful results. They’re relying on flukey rush goals, flukey goaltending, and they will regress hard unless they take better care of the puck.
 
Stole a point. I thought oilers were going to win in a blowout after that 1st period.

It’s too bad the Leafs didn’t have a little more of that comeback fire after they made it 3-3. Finish the job.
 
Having Tavares against LD in OT is perfectly fine. Having Tavares against McDavid in OT is NEVER okay.

Nylander with the bad change at the end.

Leafs played their C game and walked away with a point in a game they were down 3-1. Can't complain about taking 7/8 points on this road trip.
 
The we played, if it wasn't for Freddy could have lost badly

Can we get rid of Engvall and Vesey. They are both useless
