I'm shocked Edmonton is struggling this year.

Blows my mind that they went down this path. They got older, slower, and less skilled all in the name of "vets" and have become the oldest team in the league and also a fairly slow one with a bad defense and bad goaltending.

If Draisaitl wasn't having an MVP caliber season, that team is probably battling for a wildcard just like us.

I think Nelson would be a great fit with the pass-first wings on this team, but the Avs rarely target the obvious guy.

I’m guessing the forward addition will be someone we are not expecting.

I actually thought Skinner would be a good addition, obviously not big or fast, but when he's on he's a good scorer and puck distributor. But I think his best days are looooooong behind him. I also thought the Arvidson acquisition would yield better results. Guess Jackson wasn't so good an interim GM after all.

Yes we do. We’re currently icing Kiviranta on the 3rd line. We need offense. We get close to none from the bottom 6. One RW injury makes Kiviranta or LOC your top 6 winger.

At least the left side has Colton in case of injury. The right is grim. The same can be said for the right side defense.

You can’t go on a run with 20 point players on your 3rd line.

If MacKinnon gets hurt, there’s no player out there that the avs can get that saves the season.

It's possible they do nothing and just hope and pray Mitts gets his shits together. I just feel like if they go out and get some third line guy it'll be the equivalent of the Lars Eller acquisition.

Nah, 3RD and 3RW aren't necessary for "a realistic chance"--have you seen the West lately?

There's very little the team can do outside of acquiring Crosby that would make them favorites in the West, but I think even with the roster as currently constructed, there is still an outside chance if healthy, coke-free, and players play to their level

Can’t believe the oilers haven’t done anything yet. Goaltending, defence, scoring depth - they could use it all. They haven’t replaced Holloway or Broberg. Will be interesting to keep an eye on them. Sure glad we’ve been proactive, sellers are few and far, not many good names rumoured, and time is running out
