Boyes and Semin on unconditional waivers. Boyes has taken a nosedive, but Semin on the cheap would be a great deal.

Semin is a good player still, his contract was the problem. Strong CF player. Makes his teammates better in both CF and GF. Love him.

Crap, I thought he was making 6 mil. 7 mil is pretty bad.

Semin definitely interests me as a reclamation project since his contract isn't an issue.

His contract was absolutely heinous. He is a good player still though. Without that contract anchor around his neck... I would LOVE to add him in.

He's going to Pittsburgh though, right? It has to be Pittsburgh.

Depends what he wants to do.

I'm sure he'll go to Chicago for league minimum...

Boston won't be interested, they prefer Brian Bickell.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

I think they have to at least put an offer to beauchemin. It will take a miracle to get him, but he seems like the best fit for the isles right now.

I went thru the UFA listings a while back and Beauchemin was my 1st choice of any player. However, he will be very popular.

The big thing is, he is 35+ so some teams may not be willing to commit to a longer term. If the Isles offer 3 years, that could reduce the competition.

I suspect the Isles will go for more of a depth guy, but maybe Garth surprises me.

BTW, right now, here's how I see the forwards.

Lee-Tavares-Strome
Bailey-Nielsen-Okposo
Kulemin-Grabbo-Nelson
Martin-CC-Clutterbuck
Grabner

So... no room. If someone comes in, someone else has to go.

I'd love Semin here. The problem is that there's no way he comes here unless his value is so low he can't even get a guaranteed NHL spot.

I'd be very interested in Semin, as I'm sure many teams will be.

The Isles would be able to offer him ice time next to Tavares and obviously the team is in the rise. In addition, we have a small group of Russian forwards on the team.

With that said, someone in addition to Grabner would have to be moved and I don't see Snow moving any of the 12 current starting forwards (yes, that includes Bailey), for Semin, whom hasn't exactly looked the same since his wrist injury.

Pass on Semin. We have a glut of forwards as it is, and it really isn't offense we need is it? We need some defensive minded forwards & a system they will thrive in.

Rumor from Dreger that Martin Jones might be traded to San Jose. Incredible that Boston got a better return from Lucic than they did with Dougie, and it might get even better.

I'm not so sure of that. This isn't the Isles of a few years ago.

Winning ways. New building. Might be an attractive destination.

Based on their current trajectory, I assume it is John Scott and a 7th.

And the Boston media is preparing their smear piece on why Jones did not fit in the locker room.

I feel bad for these goalies who are perpetually stuck behind locked in #1's and never get a chance to start. Martin Jones might get his chance! Unfortunately, it might be one less opportunity for Neuvirth.

Good, I actually want Neuvirth back.

Is Hacks with Haggs going to have time to prepare all these smear pieces? I feel for him, I really do.

That's not what I meant. What I meant is that the Isles already 13 forwards and Petrov and it doesn't seem like they're going to move anyone. Anyone the Isles sign would likely have to be a guy comfortable probably ending up in the AHL, at least to start.

PW, I think it's time to drop the hate on Buffalo. Who cares about them?

Yes, let's move the hate back on to the proper target - Minnesota!!!!

Wait until they start trolling our boards telling us how Okposo is going to sign with them for a discount!

Not just yet, I'd like to get it completely out of my system before I return them to irrelevance status. There is still a little left in the basement.

I think Murray is a terrible GM so it's hard to resist because there is so much material.
