You need 9-10 NHL ready D-men in your system to start the season between your AHL and NHL teams. They won't waive Strait because he's cheap injury insurance. He wouldn't make it through waivers but I know many here think otherwise.I'm probably just foolish, but I actually feel quite confident that Strait will be waived and a goner before the season starts.
For everyone who's penciling in Mayfield because of a solid 20 minutes of playoff time, I'd hold off. He'll be top pairing in Bridgeport. Pulock is ready and the team is ready to commit to him.
Hickey will always grind my gears as long as he's on the team, regardless of contract. Hopefully the deal is no longer than 2 years. I will lose it if de Haan is traded over Hickey.
