I don't understand why people keep penciling in LaDue into next year's lineup. LaDue wont even come up for a cup of coffee next year. He has not played a full season in the AHL and the Kings simply do not rush (especially defenseman) into the professional lineup without at least a few years of experience in minors.

Looking at the future. Next year doesn't matter and is a development year. I'm looking at LaDue to fill the Martinez, sleeper, role on the 3rd pair in a couple of years. I don't believe this team can be fixed to the point where it's competitive in one off season especially since part of that is seeing if Forbort/Gravel are NHL players. That'll take at least a year. The important part is to nail down a foundation that can be built on in the future.

Also nice enough for Leaf fans to bring the Brown talk here. They should be all over Brown as they won't likely make the playoffs before his contract is up.

I wouldn't be so sure about them not making the playoffs.
If you have listen to anything the Foley has said he is very much like DL. But going even more ambiguous. I don't expect it to happen but he has said 5 years. And that is to the cup not just contenting.
Not sure if you are talking about Toronto or LV. But that is what Vegas said early on.

Leafs are garbage and will be garbage until they prove otherwise. They have yet to draft their 1C and their defense is suspect.

Edit: And need a goalie since they destroyed the one they have.

So we got more info about some of the expansion draft but also how the team will work with HHR. So they will have no effect on HHR threw this entire CBA. That is very important since based off where revenue numbers were they would of had to bring in around 165M just to not have a negative impact of the cap.

24. One other interesting wrinkle Gagnon reported: if Las Vegas is a financial disappointment, any “negative fluctuation in global revenue of the NHL attributable to the eventual losses of the new team won’t be accounted for from here to the end of the current collective bargaining agreement, which will expire in six seasons.” (Two notes: the above phrase is translated from French. And, the two sides do have the right to re-open the CBA in four years.)

Its a little known fact that no player who has ever had children has gone on to accomplish anything of note.

Yah, it's never happened to anybody ever. 4 kids means you can just stop doing anything at work and you'll still get paid because I HAVE 4 KIDS! Not like Brown has a nanny or a housekeeper or a big enough house the kids can be in an area that can only be heard on a baby monitor or a chef or a personal trainer. Muhammad Ali had 9 children by the way.

Seems like you're having a hard time separating what is from what is acceptable.

Well, they draft their #1 center 2 Friday's from now. Nylander is looking pretty good and they say Marner will be on the team this year as well.

They signed 24 year old defenseman Nikita Zaitsev as well. Van Riemsdyk missed the last half of the season. They could emerge from garbage pretty fast.

:handclap:

I'm really sick of people criticizing Brown for having a family. And now Carter will suck because he's having a kid?

So I have some concerns.

Lombardi's talked about playing faster next season. Then he brings back Sutter.
-Sutter is about as suborn/set in his ways as they come. I'm not going to lie. The thought of Sutter making somewhat major shift freaks me out a little bit.

-The Kings already have plenty of fast players and "fast" may refer to transitioning quicker. What did Lombardi mean by "fast"?

-Sutter needs players that fit his game plan to be successful. If you're looking at a defense Sutter is going to coach, you go big physical veterans. These are not the types that are going to help move the puck in a "faster" game.

Will Lombardi get Sutter the players he needs? What type of players does Sutter's new plan require to work? Does Sutter even have a new plan? I'm freaking out!!!!

Was Doughty a big physical veteran d-man when Sutter started coaching the Kings? What about Voynov & Martinez? This delusion about who Sutter can coach is a little far fetched.

Geno on the move, LA bound?

Normally, given the source, this would be just reading fodder, however the rumors of the Pens moving Malkin have been around for a couple of years and in the past few months, since mabye March, I have heard and read it on TSN and Sportsnetca from more reliable sources. That if the Pens won the CUp, they'd most likely move Malkin and his contract. Problem might be the list he has for those teams , the teams that are at the top have CAP issues, but apparently, LA the Hawks and the Wild are the early favorites.

I guess that would depend on who DL would move and how much of that contract the Pens will eat.

Of course, I still think DL's first priority is defense, and what that would cost. If they wanted Geno as well, that would take moving someone one with some $$.
