Yeah, no. I have no love for the guy, but Zuc got hit in the head with the ****ing puck and couldn't speak for days afterward. He's the slam dunk choice.

That's how it going to shape up minus any trades based on contracts and one way deals.

Missing from your list is Kempe, Mersch and Gravel. Believe Kempe will get a serious look...has NHL speed, skill and size. He's stepping up in the AHL playoffs. Gravel is better than Scuderi and Forbort... and Greene (the current Greene) I think he will be better than McNabb as well.

I get it but those names above are either on NHL deals or one way deals that kick in now and subject to waivers.

Kempe, Gravel and Mersch will not have to clear waivers.

Assuming we're stuck with Brown for better or worse, I'd like see him work on his game in the off-season. Last season he put a lot of work into his conditioning which was good, but now we need to do see him do more work on the game itself.

Everything wrong with Brown is between the ears. No amount of conditioning or training can bring back the offensive confidence he used to have. He's gotta dig way deeper than anything physical in my opinion.

Matthews value seems very high and I know he will step into the NHL next year and probably have Eichel success. Just see the Leafs are loaded at centre with Nylander, Marner, And Kadri so would they even entertain the notion?

If you are wondering what brought this up I was looking at our lineup with Carter on wing, which opens up a 2C and 3 C spot. With Carter getting older and signed long time I was wondering if moving him to wing would save a bit of wear and tear on him.

Wouldn't matter. Sutter would demand a rookie to be defensively sound, and one mistake in the defensive zone... he'd be a healthy scratch for 5 games replaced by Nolan.

Martinez and King for Myers and Dano

Seems like a good trade to me.

Perhaps a little lateral at D, but myers would be a huge add on D. Dano could audition for the 3c spot, cap hits are give or take a wash.

Skeptical about Myers' health, I believe he had to have recent hip surgery towards the end of the season. We've had success with damaged goods before though...

From an article a few years ago, I'll try to look it up when I have the chance (I think it was something from Friedman)--the Kings were a team that was leading the way in some "injury" metrics/analytics--which would explain the acquisition of Williams, Mitchell, among others. And considering how generally durable our players are despite playing a bruising game (being generally bigger helps I'm sure), I'd say they're onto something there. If they were to acquire Myers, I'd trust that.

I do wonder if losing our Strength/Conditioning guy after 2012 (2013?) hurt, as that's when we started worrying about guys looking 'tired' deep in the year and playoffs. Whether it's that, Sutter's system, or a combination...but I digress. I sure don't remember Sutter's Calgary teams looking worn down, I remember them ALWAYS being hard to play against despite being full of 3rd liners.

I think I saw one poster mention something about him having surgery and needing a bit of down time (perhaps into next season). I suppose he'd have to get some sort of clearance to make sure he isn't toast.

He'd look great in that 2nd pair slot though.

For anyone who says he is not worth a 2nd round pick. I hate him on the Kings but he does use his body well to shield the puck and if Vey can fetch a 2nd then a 2 time cup winner can fetch one

lol im hoping for more then just a 2nd. I have always stuck to 2nd 3rd and prospect for the ahl. Only recently i went to 2nd and 3rd or 2nd 5th and a goalie prospect. and i totally agree with your Vey argument

That's right. His shooting percentage has stayed absurdly low. He needs a different trainer this year. Is it psychological or perceptual, I don't know, but he needs more alternative training.

Well, he's tried special nutrition meals delivered to his home...so why not. lol Maybe the hypnotist could also advise him to take a 50% paycut, to help the team.

But since you can't renegotiate contracts...maybe instead of the KINGS signing a player, maybe DUSTIN BROWN can sign a player and assign him to the Kings!

I wonder if they would even consider moving Nylander or Marner, given that they will have Matthews, Kadri, Nylander, Marner, Bozak, etc. Cannot see all 5 of these there, especially 3 of them rookies.
