Official Training Camp Thread

No doubt these injuries suck, and I hope that they aren't too bad, and have lasting effects for the season. On the flip side, it does give other people opportunities in the lineup, to showcase what they can do.

I could see Nylander on his own line doing his own thing. When he came up he looked great playing with Colin Greening so it’s not like you need him to play with an expensive line mate. Kerfoot and Tavares seems to work as a dynamic because Kerfoot is able to get on the gallop and take the puck somewhere in a hurry. Spreading out the talent is always an option.

Why not? We've made the playoffs already. Why wouldn't we want a guy like Engvall or Liljegren to sit for a bit? Kypreos touched on this months ago.

We need a bit of breathing room and depending, this may help. As a fan base we accuse other teams of manipulating the system. I'd wager our guys are also aware of how to do that.

We'll probably see Muzzin and Murray miss the start of the year as well.
 
Now it makes sense why the Leafs offered matching contracts for Liljegren and Sandin. LTIR for one and the other fits in to the penny.

So I would assume he's been injured for awhile, and it might explain why he was pulled from the Tampa series in favour of Holl.

Liljegren trains hard in the offseason, big time gym rat. He could have easily tweaked something there. Engvall, no idea, but it doesn't sound serious for him.

So then they should sign ZAR and everyone fits under the cap nicely for now...

I'm thinking back to Liljegren being pulled from the Tampa series in (favour of Holl)......and not returning. In retrospect, it was probably injury related.

And afterwards everyone piled on Keefe.

Just because he's injured now doesn't mean he has been injured the whole time since the playoffs
