So we're gonna kick zucc outta town and somehow sometime maybe get Callahan back? Not saying in the same deal though..

That's more like one step forward 3 steps back type of move than a rebuild..

Callahan is beyond done, finished and was barely anything special. Sorry to his fans, just an opinion..
I don’t think anyone cares about getting Callahan back. It’s the fee to take on that salary is what’s attractive.

I'll take on any short term contracts if it comes with reasonable assets in return. Callahan only has one year left, so i'm fine with bringing him back as a cap dump for TB.

I don’t see why McQuaid wouldn’t bring back at least a 3rd. Holden brought back a third and a prospect (although a shit one)

I’d do Pionk for puljujarvi that seems like a good move for both teams

If we’re serious about adding ufas this summer how does bringing Callahan and his horrible contract back help us do that? It’s not like we have that much room.

Only way I’d entertain that is if we’re sending them Shattenkirk and getting a a 2020 first rounder and a good prospect in return.

They can ask alllll they want.

Would take a haul for it to happen. And they would need us to retain money which would increase the original high price. Wont happen
Unless big money comes back... Nikita Zaitsev or Nylander means they'll have space to fit Kreider next yr when the contracts hit

The difference between them at present is not one round in the draft. Buch is an NHL player with issues in his game. Puljujarvi is a tweener with issues in his game.
Jarvi is a mis-handled/not developed prospect and 3 years younger.

Buch is a middle 6 forward on a bad team/offensively inept team IMO. He needs PP1 time to produce and I'd rather give that time to someone else ( ADA, Kravstov, Chytil, Kreider, Zibs ). The biggest thing for me, he has not improved any of his weaknesses.. on a side note, I can't stand his face. He still has value, so I'd like to get something back for someone I think will not be a NYR in the long run unless he changes course and rights the ship.

Hopefully I'm wrong but I haven't seen anything from him. No flashes. He's still p***yfarted off the puck. His shot is missing.

Toronto's 3rd for McQuaid? The difference between that and the 4th we gave up could be really minimal. And we also gave up a 7th, right? That seems like a lateral move, at best.

Um have you seen his stats? A guy pacing for nearly 30 points with limited mins and no PP
Time (where he excelled on) is not done.

Callahan would actually be an upgrade to our Current Bottom 6 and especially PK.
So it’s not exactly taking a step back. Espcially if Zucc comes back next season if traded.

But to add this makes no sense unless the Rangers are getting an asset attached. As much as I would love to see Callahan return it has to be for the right reasons.

If it's a late 3rd versus a early 4th, I'd rather have a 4th with an additional 2020 7th rounder or two.

There would be more value towards entertainment purposes than the actual value between the two picks.

If they are dealing in stuff that has pretty much strange value anyway, cause they are taking a goalie with that pick whether it be a 3rd or 4th, I want the funnies that go along with the multitude of 7th they could have, which they will also use on goalies, or nepotism, or something.

This sadly seemed like the best case scenario the day the trade was made.

Sounds like everyone is holding out their big guys tonight except for us. Smart move Christ

RE: McQuaid... yea, at best it's a minimal gain in terms of absolute value and probably a risk that wasn't worth taking (at the time and in hindsight), but I honestly think he helped Skjei's game a bit, which isn't seen in the outcome of a draft pick, but is worth something.

Yeah, pretty much. I mean this basically seems to work out to signing McQuaid for 50 games and then letting him walk. Our draft stock really doesn't improve or anything.

What do you mean? We got to watch him block DeAngelo for half the season too. That’s been so fun
