He is about to be 25 and signed at 5.25 for the next 5 years.

With the talk of Risto to TB, maybe they pick up JT Miller or Tyler Johnson along with some prospects or picks in case the fall short in their playoff push.

With all the LD prospects we have been stockpiling, I’d hope Gorton has at least tested the market on Skjei. But that light return on Montour makes me doubt we’d get much more than a 1st.

Yeah I don't think we're getting him on a 4 year deal.

5 year deal would be perfect, but he'd have to agree to that when he really has no reason to.

Buffalo has the makings of an excellent Dcore. Trading Risto doesnt make a lot of sense. Dahlin, Risto, Montour, Bogosian. Scandella (when healthy).

Montour, Risto and Dahlin are very good. Bogosian is decent but would be on the 3rd pair once Scandella is back. Add one more 2nd pairing D and that is a very good and deep defense.

Eh, I don't think Risto is very good at all. He's meh.

Dahlin is a beast and Montour is good. Scandella is decent, but nothing overly special.

I feel like we never see these things during the deadline.

Those kinds of deals usually happen over the summer.
