These conditions are getting out of control.

as I posted on another thread can't the Rangers go back to Dallas and offer to lock in the 2nd round pick and give up the contingent 1st ,, if Dallas gives us a good prospect + .. Maybe even get a second prospect if we pick up more of Zucc's salary.. Dallas then would be able to deal that 1st for help now, and more retention would also help.

No the deal is done.

The craziest condition to me is still the one in the Erik Karlsson trade.

"If Erik Karlsson plays for a team in the Eastern Conference during the 2019-20 season, Ottawa receives the Sharks 2020 first round pick"

Maybe we were. No reason to suggest we never even asked.

But I don't think we are in a position to give up picks and prospects now

Exactly. If Anaheim's ask was a 1st rounder and a good D prospect, the Rangers don't want to pony up either one. Maybe they were going to circle back if they could land a pick from someone for Hayes but Anaheim felt the pick options from Buffalo were better.

Not sure why the Ducks make this trade. Montour still has another year left of a solid deal and then is an RFA, only 24 years old and is a RHD. Not saying it's a bad return they got just dont get the rationale for trading him.

Anaheim is one of those teams that seem to open a can of D-prospects each year. Crazy how they find them every year

That and they spent years developing him, let Theodore go to Vegas all for Guhle and a late 1st? Doesn't make sense.
