Kylington, Valimaki and Andersson... How'd you rate them..
You will like Hayes, he drives the play and owns the puck but he can make some 'Hayes' moves. You'll learn soon enough.
Kylington is the best of the three. Physical when need be, incredible stick for breaking plays up, great "sense" for when to attack the blue line and when to hang back, great vision and technical passing skill, and creativity, hard worker, great hands in tight, incredible shot, total snipeshow could score 20+ goals, and I wager he is a top 5 skater in the NHL along with the likes of McDavid, Larkin, Karlsson, Point. His physical gifts are jaw dropping but the amount of rapid progression he made as a two way D means the sky is the limit.
Valimaki is second. Love him and think he is at minimim a top 4 defenseman. The best of the three at net front coverage and stapling guys to the boards. Also a plus skater and has excellent hockey IQ. Could be a legitimate #1 himself somewhere along the lines of McDonagh or Subban, but even if he doesn't hit those lofty heights will be a guy every top 4 would want.
Andersson is a few tiers below. Hockey sense is high but doesn't quite process the game at the same blistering speed as the other two, causing him to throw some rushed passes or occasionally get walked, but that might be inexperience. He could top out as an ideal #2 guy, all the tools to log 22+ a night. Has a great point shot (and knows how to use it) and that has allowed him to be a huge part of our second PP unit already. Likes the physical game though he's not the biggest body. Biggest question is if his shutdown game can truly develop. If it does, 40+ point #2D. If not, he'll top out as a 35-ish point #4D. He did have some games elevated up the lineup, including one where the Brodie-Andersson pair got McDavid duty, and he did admirably within his limitations but I do believe they got kicked in on the corsi that night.
