75% chance you draft a player that plays very few games in the NHL, if ever. That's the more logical, and more likely, percentage that you should be focusing on.

This is true, I certainly don't. Just like no one can know with any certainty that Clowe still has the ability to score goals in the NHL.

Specific return to #SJSharks when it happens: NYR 2nd-round pick (45th right now) and 3rd-round pick NYR have from FLA (61st right now)....

Plus NYR 2014 2nd-round pick if Clowe re-signs or they win 2 playoff rounds. If neither happens, #SJSharks gets 5th round pick.

McBain was a guy we wanted before Staal's injury. Staal's injury does not change that.

LOL, what are you on about? Rationalizing? You're the one rationalizing. Clowe = proven commodity. Draft picks = hoping for the best drafting a young player, especially past the 1st round. You have NO IDEA what a 17 year old will amount to that you've drafted in the 2nd round, more than likely, without investing YEARS into producing that player.

Without 2nd rounders this team would have not had the players to trade for Nash or to actually play with him, ha ha.

Draft picks are not 'hoping for the best' unless you follow the Rangers. Every other team seems to pull their BEST players out of the draft. When they do it with high and low picks you have to think they know what they're doing.

But you are definitely more in tuned with the management of this team, prospects are easily found like Henrik and Girardi, who needs high picks.

They have a better chance of finishing 3rd than they do 8th.
