He's 31 years old; wtf, fatty is 10yrs older and is still playing competitive hockey. Hanks good for anothers 5-7 yrs easy

But will he be as good as he is now? For the next 3 years he will be a huge part of this teams success. After that is a mystery. In 6 years will he be nearly as good as he is now?

Without 2nd rounders this team would have not had the players to trade for Nash or to actually play with him, ha ha.

Draft picks are not 'hoping for the best' unless you follow the Rangers. Every other team seems to pull their BEST players out of the draft. When they do it with high and low picks you have to think they know what they're doing.

But you are definitely more in tuned with the management of this team, prospects are easily found like Henrik and Girardi, who needs high picks.

How quickly we forget 2nd and 3rd round picks that amounted to nothing. Here you go (2003-2010):

Ethan Werek, Antoine Lafluer, Ryan Borque, Ryan Hillier, Dalyn Flatt, Brodie Dupont, Marc-Andre Cliche, Billy Ryan, Zdeněk Bahenský, Dane Byers, Bruce Graham, Darin Olver, Ken Roche, Ivan Baranka, Grachev - all have played 14 games or less in the NHL, most have played 1 game or less and not including recent picks (Christian Thomas, Fogarty, etc... that are too young or not ready)

Besides, there's still time (now and this summer) to deal players for picks (Gaborik?) and get some of these picks back.

Right, we could have taken someone better with how we've been doing in the 2nd round.

Never knew the draft was such an exact science. What we have done is gotten lucky that the picks we took who made it to the nhl have become good players. A bunch of other 2nd rounders we took have been useless as expected. It's just statistics really...even if are scouts are above average compared to the league they are not THAT above average that they auto know players in the 2nd round who will become really good players that just happened to slip through everyone in the first.

We play Carolina saturday. Do they deal us McBain? I don't think Carolina is considering who they're battling for a playoff spot. They are making a move for the organization.

I'm not convinced McBain is coming here... but to add more food for thought -- Carolina is more concerned about catching a struggling Jets team to regain 3rd; not battling us for 8th.

McBain makes sense. He is on the outs in carolina. He is still young and raw enough to be molded by good defensive coaches. He was paired with McDonagh at Wisconsin. It makes too much sense for the rangers not to figure out a deal with Carolina.

“@AGrossRecord: Brian Boyle earlier today: "(This) usually is my favorite time to play and usually my best hockey. Hopefully I’m doing it for the Rangers."”

Blah blah, keep talking just like you do after you're scratched for a few games, then back down to being the softest, weakest giant on skates ive ever seen.

We have enough young and raw guys as is. I'm not a big fan of his this season.

Boyle has been better lately. If you can't see it then you need to lower your expectations of him.

Some of what Gross is tweeting seems to indicate Boyle thinks he may be traded. Maybe every players talks like that around trade deadline?

Boyle's problem is not himself but his coach. He's not a talented offensive player and shouldn't have games where he is playing over 15 minutes, playing on the power play, playing with Gaborik etc. Putting him here just makes him look really out of place and causes people to dislike him. If he was played maybe 8 minutes a game on the 4th line and PK I'm sure everyone would really like his game.

we have 700K in cap space right now, dunno where we going to get cap space to add anyone else, move boyle thats 2.5 still not alot of wiggle room

That would be if we were adding a player from day 1 in the season, CapGeek has us able to add up to 2,927,429 in full salary.
