I was just thinking we needed more of that on this team.

This year, he's not playing well and he's going to be a rental from the sounds of it. I don't understand why they want him at all.

I agree with you from the short term perspective -- as a rental for the rest of this season, unless its a dirt cheap deal, I'm not a fan.

But I'd be interested in him as a FA in the offseason (again, for the right price - assuming he's not out of his mind and asking $4-5 mil); if he gets back to form, he's a solid LW. Maybe I'm just overly optimistic, but I don't think his game is going to drop off a cliff in the next 1-2 years (despite the fears that may be triggered by his play in this lockout-shortened season).

I generally agree that the team should be getting younger, not older -- but not everyone can be 20-25 years old. And for the most part, you're not going to pry away any solid players in that age range from a team. The Rangers are one of the youngest teams in the NHL as it is.

The Powerplay on siriusxm was just discussing the Flames situation. The organization is a mess. They felt they struckout with the Iginla and Jay-Bo trades. They thought they should've got more. People were trying to argue Iginla was going to cost a good chunk a few weeks ago. Nope didn't happen. The Flames are ****ing up, place the phone call for Glencross.

I would prefer to be a seller during the deadline but we have a vezina between the pipes who won't be here much longer. These next few years while he is still around are probably going to be our best chance for a cup in a long time. We should be thinking "win now"

Pyatt and a 3rd for Clowe.

Gilroy and a 3rd for McBain.

Thomas and 2014 2nd for Glencross .

Torres for 2014 5th.

That would go down as Slats' best trade deadline in history if that happened.

I also would love any of these moves.

Yeah, for a rental, no thanks. If they're sure they can sign him, might not be a bad addition. Solid depth on the bottom 6 that is actually hard to play against. I'm just wary of moving prospects for a rental who is seemingly dealing with the same problems that a lot of the team is already battling.

Lavoie saying all indications point to Clowe being a Ranger. Tweet is in french.

Here's the english tweet:

Everything indicates that the Rangers will be acquired Ryane Clowe. It awaits confirmation. # Transactions2013

I don't want Clowe here unless its a no brainer (3rd or 4th) because I think he's banged up, and won't be effective. However, people who say he's slow, are exaggerating. He's def not slower than Morrow or Iginla...
