Player Discussion: official trade deadline 2025 // discussion thread

Labanc, no chance. JVR? I wouldn't be so sure, he's been producing extremely well and is exactly the kinda guy we need around all the kids right now. If he's still interested in playing I could see us taking it year by year with him.
I don't disagree, but I think he's still on the short list of players to not be back. Now, if they happen to move some of the younger players or other players for an upgrade in the top 6, that makes it easier, but if the following group returns (with health, of course): Marchenko, Monahan, Voronkov, Fantilli, KJ, Jenner, Chinakhov, Sillinger... that's 8 of the top 9. Could LDBB also have played himself into a top 9 role next year? Again, I don't disagree that he could be back, but my opinion still stands that he is likely to be on the short list to not return without other movement being done. I simply don't see him on a line with the likes of Olivier, ZAR and whomever is the 4C or extra forward next year. Just my opinion, not my desire.

That's why I wasn't keen on JVR last summer, but he's swayed me. We so often have a bunch of injuries higher up in the lineup. JVR is like the ideal smart player who can step in there for 40 games or so and you can rest him the rest of the time. Supposedly he ran out of gas for Boston last year, not an 82 game guy, but that's suitable for a 14F.

Meanwhile my boy Danforth and this year's beloved Olivier, for all the talk about them being guys who can play on any line - they're just not scoring nearly as much. You don't want KJ with them when a couple injuries hit. I hope we bring both back, I insist on it! But they're 4th liners.

I am all in on Bjorkstrand. Period. Do whatever we need to do to acquire him.

Seattle is targeting prospects that are ready to play or close to it.

His value in generic draft pick terms is perhaps, we'll say, the 18th pick OA. But they are less interested in picks and will try and sell to a club offering a prospect that is further along. So who do we have that is in that value range?
