Moncton has announced that Will Bower has been called up for the remainder of the season.

Also Roger Shannon now says Tkachev is a 50-50 to report after Christmas but the KHL team wants 20k for his release and the Cats can only pay 2.5k

Who do you think loses their spot to make room for Bower?

Also, what's the timetable for Caissy's return?

Caissy hopes to be back within the next two weeks.

Haas has been moved to defence permanently and Hynes and Drover have been assigned to their respective teams.

It could also mean there is a trade that's going to happen , Lalonde maybe.

Where did you hear that Hynes got reassigned? He is still practicing with the team as of today.

Very important game tomorrow for both the Cats and the Titan as the Titan are now tied with Moncton with 2 games on hand and 2 points back of Charlottetown with 1 game on hand.

This could kickstart the stumbling down to bottom 3 of one of thse teams as Sherbrooke is really picking up steam lately.

Danick Emond will make his return tonight after being injured for over a month. He's going to be rusty but will add some stability to the defence.

16 year old William Bower will be making his Wildcats/QMJHL debut tonight as well.

Its been longer then a month pal. He has only played only 7 games of the 32 games Moncton has played already.

Who is this Douthwright kid ... elite prospects has no stats for him for the last 2 years ... a youtube link on him suggests he scored 57 goals in 42 games ... 94 total points. Not clear what league he was playing in ... probably playing at level or two below where he should play. 5'7" 141 is not a big player ... but perhaps those are outdated stats as well.

EDit: Found this ... www.asdb.com/profile/isaiah-douthwright

Looks like he played a year in a Vermont Prep School and then played MAA last year ... listed at 5'8" 185 now ... probably a little heavy now. Looks like he has offensive skill but tough to make the jump from MAA to CHL.

Last Edit: Jun 25, 2013 at 12:40pm by SteveUL

He's playing in the Quebec Collegial League now...

QMJHL hands a 4 game suspension to Christopher Lalonde.

http://theqmjhl.ca/article/lalonde-suspended-4-games/155100

It's bad timing for a few reasons.

1. With Barbashev off to the World Juniors and Chris Caissy still injured , the suspension eliminates Moncton's first line and most of their firepower.

2. Lalonde ,19, is one of the most sought after Wildcat that could be traded in the next few weeks. Surely teams would like to get a good look at him before acquiring him , which could make a small difference if/when he's traded.

3. Makes the league look silly after not suspending Erne and Sorenson for their actions against the Mooseheads to give him a 4 game suspension on a hit , that may have been illegal, but not near as bad as the other two.

Chris Caissy will return to the lineup tonight against Halifax.

That should be a big boost and hopefully enough to keep the winning streak alive at 7 games.

This will be the matchup of depleted lineups.

Out for Moncton : Barbashev , Lalonde

Out for Halifax : Fucale , Ehlers , Drouin

Should be a dandy.

I'll say 5-3 Moncton.

Halifax's total list of WJC absences/injuries is Drouin, Fucale, Ehlers, Duke, Ashley, Ryan, and Falkenham - we're pretty banged up, lol.

If you're going to the game, you'll have to pop by and let us know how Max Fortier looks. He's getting called up for the first time tonight.

Will do. I was kind of happy to hear he got called up as I was wondering what kind of a prospect he was as well. You'll have a full scouting report :)

He looked good. Very good skater that uses bursts of speed to beat opponents. Always kept his feet moving. Smart , always was in the right place at the right time. He has a quick release and got some shots in from in close. He didn't look 160 lbs , looked more like 180 out there. Didn't appear to be small but more or less sturdy. He and Andrews knew where each other were , definitely some chemistry there. Overall , solid prospect that's more than capable of playing major junior this year.

Hawk on the already written, and I'll write Tkachev leaves in Quebec league debut in January for "Moncton". such cases.

@ MartinLahaie
Official: Vladimir Tkachyov will join the Wildcats in January. Big acquisition for them.

Hopefully it's true. It would be huge.

Good inside info that @isshockey ranked Russian Vladimir Tkachev has purchased flight tickets to join @monctonwildcats in a few weeks.

Apparently he'll be flying back with Barbashev after the world juniors.

Moncton also acquired Dillon Donnelly from Quebec for a 5th round pick.

The team has released Danick Emond , likely due to his knee injury. He was in a lot of pain last game and it clearly hasn't healed as was expected.
