Salary Cap: Official LA Kings 2017-18 Organization Chart

Yeah, I have the very max we can spend up there, but in actuality we are between $5-7 million depending on where you look. There is almost no way Dean would spend beyond the cap unless we were an absolute Stanley Cup contender.

Next year we'll be at the cap though. The thing is, will it be worth it for us to be at the cap with the roster we're bound to have? It's an interesting question.

I played around on Cap Geek just for fun, and had Hickey, Lewis, Westgarth, and Purcell on the roster (put Purcell's cap hit at 1 million), with Richardson off. I toyed with the idea of taking Moller off and leaving Richardson on, but did not. I came up with 7.427 million of cap room including the bonus cushion.

We could make another addition, but where? The two third line players I would've liked (Moen) or liked to have back (Kostopoulous) are gone. We could send out a contract or make a deal for a puck moving defenseman making around 2 million or so, but that player would have to have an expiring contract. Then we wouldn't keep Hickey up, obviously. We have quite a bit of room if Dean really wants to do something.

I think we're done though.

What am I reading wrong in Telos's Front Page List ?

I see $10 mil left w/ 21 players signed ? :help:

The 21 players are the ones that are with the main club and not overall signings. The $10 million is from cap geek. They are reporting a late $6-7 million cap room + another $3 million bonus cushion. I went over it with a calculator and it seemed pretty close so I took their word for it. They update it every time a transaction is made.

Stick with the plan! Smart contracts only! Re-sign Frolov > Overpaying for a free agent next year. Get it done Deano :P

I agree....right now Dean has put this team in a very good position. If they re-sign Frolov to a reasonable contract....they will be sitting good with the cap and might be able to add another piece if the opportunity presents itself. The big issue is, now the team has most of the parts they need.....but they need to start earning their money. Kopitar needs to prove he is a top 20 player in the NHL (as his salary would indicate). Frolov needs to show he has what it takes to get that next contract.....and Johnson needs to make a push for his next contract. It will definitely be a pivotal season for this franchise.....and for those in charge.

*Updated*

-Well the roster is accurate... lol
-Added Azevedo, Bagnall, Purcell, and Mikus singings - awaiting numbers...

Edit:
-Numbers for Azevedo, Purcell, and Mikus are up... Still waiting on Bagnall.

Edit:
-Updated Bagnall's numbers.

Removed all RFA's and UFA's as well as the 2009 Free Agent list. Onto 2010 and the playoffs!

Can we get an updated breakdown with Quick & Drewiske's new number?

Next offseason is going to be boring. The only NHL-level free agents left are Frolov, Ivanans, Purcell, Richardson and O'Donnell. Frolov's situation will be determined by the trade deadline. Presumably, if the Kings want Ivanans or O'Donnell back, they'll be re-singed by the end of the season. And Purcell and Richardson are RFA's with no leverage.

That's what so great about DL locking up Kopitar, Brown, Greene, Quick, Drewiske, etc,. He wants stability, a team that he can put on the ice for years to come.

With that said the Frolov situation is critical and there can always be other signings/trades because DL will continue to look for ways to imrpove this team!

Updated Drewiske and Quick's numbers, will wait for two sites to confirm their UFA/RFA statuses though I am pretty sure about both of them. Our free agent chart has also been updated.

Alright... Spent a few hours today updating... Here's what we got done:

*Re-did all the numbers and corrected a few player's numbers that weren't refined.

*Went over everyone's RFA/UFA status and changed a few (like Quick's).

*Added ages to every player's information.

*Added a whole new handy dandy unsigned prospects section which also includes players we retain the rights for with all their personal and draft information.

*Added Kyle Clifford's signing and information - which now makes him the youngest signed player in the organization.

*Re-arranged players to their correct current respective categories.

Enjoy, for all those people who actually read the stickies >.<

Might as well put Williams on LTIR.

Had to put an easter egg somewhere... I absolutely cannot wait until I get to delete him off the chart completely and never have to hear his name again.

Updated the new numbers after the trade deadline deals. Cap solutions should be accurate to an acute degree.
