Boston Bruins 24-25 Roster/Cap thread XV

Looking at it now, of course DiPietro is a UFA after this season..lol.

I don’t think you make a decision by the deadline on your backup. See how DiPietro finishes out the regular season and, hopefully, playoffs in the A. If his strong play continues throughout, you now have a decision to make between him and Korpi. A “good problem to have.”

That is a huge gamble. Maybe Gibson could be a top goalie in a different situation. And he has actually rebounded for a decent year this year, but we are talking about a player who hasn't played like a top goalie since what 2018, maybe 2019. Huge risk to trade for a goalie on the wrong side of 30 who was bad for 5 straight seasons.
You want to trade away a 26 year old goalie with no one else to take his place And please don't say Gibson.Bruins are not getting McTavish thats a pipe dream ..
If the Bruins could get a McTavish in a deal for Sway, tell Sway I will pick him up in 15 minutes and drive him to logan. Gibson only has one more year after this on his contract, i could put up with him and Korp, co- op the net. Time do something might not be popular, but it is time.

If a team is willing to pay a reasonable price for Korpisalo at the deadline (whatever that may be), can't they trade Korpisalo, get an small asset and cap space, see how Dipietro does the remainder of the season, and then figure out the back-up goalie in the off-season?

Whether that is extending Dipietro and planning on him as back-up, or signing a different back-up in free agency, or even doing both, extending Dipietro AND signing a veteran back-up as they'll probably want 3 reliable goaltenders next year anyways.

Not for me, McAvoy is considered a top pair Dman around the league, but I don't think he is as good as some think. I am not saying trade him for picks , I meant trade him for a top young talent. If you can get a legit young Center, someone like a Stutzle or similar type, I would make that move.
You are talking about a guy that plays 23 mins a nite..Big hole created trading him

All depends on the return. There’s a couple of nice UFA who the Bruins can write in in Mac spot., in Chychrun and Ekblad if they hit the market. Only thing is Mac would have to waive his NMC.

Yeah I don’t disagree. And by all means if you can get some assets from selling Korpi.

I just dont see them doing it though. Not in season at least.

One thing I know though is I want DiPietro retained.

Buffalo is going on 14 years

Bruins fans can probably handle 5-7 and even though many will leave a lot will come back when they are good

Be nice to get in top 2-3 and get a shot at McKenna
I am with you about wanting shot at McKenna.Man o man would that be a homerun for Bruins .On another note I saw there was 16 scouts at Hawks Preds game but no Bruins ..Are we even serious about fixing this mess

Who would they possibly get of either team who is going to fix this mess?

Bruins fans should cower in fear if they hear the Bruins are scouting Nashville, and their roster full of ancient players with large long term contracts.

And Chicago has no one they would consider trading who is gonna fix anything
