So u think they meant to take 14 years? Or maybe they were thinking just like you. Just a hand full of top 10 picks is all they thought they needed. Trying to lose to win barely ever works. It only worked for Edmonton because they won a draft lottery during the year mcjesus was available. The odds of this happening are very slim. And let’s not forget how long Edmonton was bad for before they got lucky.

I’m assuming it will be 5 years because it sounds like we will be getting an amazing GM to replace Sweens

Not sure who it is and I’m not a big reveal guy although I do like the idea of yellow smoke and black and gold confetti as the mystery GM appears rising from the floor trap door

I do not want Evan Gold

I want someone who not only has nothing to do with the Bruins but like some NFL players doesn’t know where New England is

I am with you about wanting shot at McKenna.Man o man would that be a homerun for Bruins .On another note I saw there was 16 scouts at Hawks Preds game but no Bruins ..Are we even serious about fixing this mess

Half their forward group are already ex-Bruins. They should know those players well enough already.

But in all seriousness, maybe the lack of Bruin scouts indicates a willingness to sell.

Marchand, I agree even if he does not decide, not his call. Carlo and Coyle, even I have reached a point except for Pasta, everyone is available. Rantanen, I am all in. Rebuilds take too long, I am against that, and they are no fun.

Couldn't agree more. With all the Power GMs have given players with NMC and NTC, why handcuff themselves even more when you have an asset you can deal ? if they sign him fine, but if remains unsigned you move him.

That is the problem with college hockey, you need to be in most cases a 20- 21-year-old freshman, to be able play the sport. I think it has kind of lost its purpose to what it should be.

That isn't always true. BC entire 1st line, Fortescue and Fowler last year were true Freshmen 18 year olds. Stiga is a true Freshmen 18 year old. Top 18 year olds go to BU, Denver, Michigan, Michigan St or Minnesota and they usually have 1-2 true Freshmen every year.

Its schools like Quinnipiac who go older because your top 18 year olds from
The USNTDP and Canada almost always go to the schools mentioned above.

Sports can be an ugly business, if the Bruins hold on to Marchand just because of memories they are more dumb than I think they already are.

He needs to go and not be anywhere near a new core of players.

Sorry if Im hated here as some suggest but Im not concerned about them. I want the team I love to get good as quick as possible. I like winning.

Marchand to Washington for 1st and andrew cristall

Freddy to NJ for a 2nd and adam Beckman

Coyle and brazeau to islanders for a 1st
Replace barzal

That is the problem with college hockey, you need to be in most cases a 20- 21-year-old freshman, to be able play the sport. I think it has kind of lost its purpose to what it should be.

By my count there were 10 players drafted in 2024 in Rounds 1-3 that are 18-year old freshmen in the NCAA this season, including Letourneau.

Letourneau has BY FAR the lowest production out of those 10 players. And it's not like it's all guys picked way before him. The highest is Sacha Boisvert (#18). Quality programs too, UND, BC, BU, Providence College, U of Michigan, U Minnesota-Duluth.

Hate to burst your bubble but it will be a major accomplishment for ANY management team to get this organization back to the upper levels of the NHL.

Look around and you will see just about every bubble team has studs in their prospect pool, This organization needs to be ripped apart top to bottom.

DS destroyed this organization with his foolish decisions over the years.

We had/have a grossly overrated leadership group on the ice that chocked away more big games than they won.

Great guys, nice locker room, great in public, but not much killer instinct when it mattered.

If they only had the heart of Tim Thomas we could have had a few more cups. Brad's the last of that group and he needs to go to a team with a minor roll and maybe win another cup.

We are in for some bad times long before we get better. Im ok with that but lets tear the band-aid off and get on with it.

And even with their good luck, it took the Oilers 8 DNQ's and the best player of his generation, to right the ship.

Letourneau for the first time this year showed a pulse in the opening round game of the Beanpot. The fact it took him so long to play well is certainly concerning. Teddy Stiga has been much better than Letourneau this year and Will Vote who went undrafted two years in a row has played better than Letourneau. Letourneau should start being a lot more than he as been down the stretch here for BC. Biggest issue I see so far is lack if intensity with him. Reminding me of Joe Colborne.

Be focusing on him tonight in the Finals against BU. Interesting to see how he compares to Lachance.

Sorry Joe Colborne was "before Sweeney's time" and he never studied him. Hence, not a mistake!

This is changing and will change more going forward. What you describe is the result of D1 teams having 3 full and 2 half scholarships (being really generous here) for their entire hockey program.

With the money and scholarships loosening up and going back-in-time loose starting this summer (?), you're going to see a ton of younger kids getting athletic scholarships in their teens versus yesterday's 21 year old freshman.

Those are exceptional players that you mentioned, but for the most part these kids are older playing college hockey today.

I am not arguing with you, and I hope you are right. I just think it is the toughest sport to go directly to college and play from high school. I just it has gotten a little crazy, and it is hurting some kids that just don't have the financial resources to continue playing and trying to get into school. The NHL is not in every kids cards, we all know that but maybe playing after high school and continuing their education is.

Two big parts of the problem is there are lots more D1 Schools than when I was in
College (17 ECAC, 8 WCHA, 8 CHA) and the majority of top talent plays in
Europe and CHA.

If there were no CHL\Euro Leagues NCAA Hockey would be more like NCAA Football and NCAA Basketball.

That being said there were plenty post grads Freshmen when I graduated in 1977. Mike Eruzione was a PG as an example.
