A deal like Lundqvist, Kravstov, Chytil, 2022 1st is it overly expensive, the assets are expendable, and improves the team this year and next.
The Canucks are not getting the equivalent of four 1st round picks for JT Miller

some of you need to go outside and touch grass lmao

Eichel didn’t even get traded for that

Yes, that package is ridiculous, not going to happen.

With that said, suggesting Chytil is a 1st round equivalent is also pretty ridiculous. Being a later 1st 5 years ago doesn't really factor in any more.

That package isn't the equivalent of 4 1st round picks. Kravtsov would be unlikely to return more than a 2nd or 3rd, and Chytil probably wouldn't return 1st at this point either.

This is all just a baroque way of saying you don't like the idea of trading for Miller. Again -- this is an opinion. The team can clear cap to do so fairly easily without losing any important players.
NO, THEY CANNOT CLEAR CAP.
What you typed is an assumption not based on fact.
As I have explained repeatedly, not only is the $ aspect of the cap a problem in terms of needing room, in terms of flexbility, other than maybe Goodrow, we do not have anybody besides Lindgren who we can trade.

Multiple people have shown you rosters, some composed and linked in Capfriendly, that incorporate both Miller at 50% retention and every important player re-signed, often at above their presumed market value.

You also seem to be deliberately overlooking other players that could be traded more easily than the ones you mention. Ryan Reaves is one example.

"we do not have anybody besides Lindgren who we can trade"

What you have typed is opinion, not fact.

Clearly the Rangers have some level of interest in acquiring JT MIller, and their real GM has a different plan than you.

Kravstov and Chytil aren't worth a 1st.

Eichel has 2 more years, twice the cap and health concerns. He got a better prospect than Lundqvist, a better roster player than Chytil, a fairly equivalent 1st and a 2nd. The package for JT is less than Eichel got, for a player that is cheaper. Eichel produces more points, but Miller is more physical, PKs, near the top of the league for FO%. I think it all depends on how Kravstov is valued. 4 years removed from being 9OA and hasn't cracked the NHL, went crying back to KHL. I'd say this package is 2 1sts, a 2nd and a 3rd in value. Not far off what Miller is likely worth.

Edit: Kravstov worth a late 2nd early 3rd at that. Only way he plays in the NHL is guaranteed ice time. Maybe we'd rather a 2023 2nd instead of him.

Lundqvist, Chytil, 2022 1st, 2023 2nd

Schnieder, 2023 1st, 2022 2nd and Chytil for Miller (20% retained) and Chaisson

Works good for BOTH teams

According to Pagnotta the Canucks have an offer on the table from NYR
-Believes it is 3 assets
-Kakko, and Laf are not on the table
-Believe Kratsov was offered and is being offered in trade talks
- Said that K'andre Miller and Schnieder could potentially be on the table

If the leafs were willing to go all in I could see them offer 2022 1st, 2023 1st with protection and Amirov plus salary for Miller and schenn.

Is there a link suggesting this?

This seems like affirmation but how is it really different from saying, "I have no idea?" Could be?

So Miller, Schneider and Kravtsov for Miller at 50% retained (presumably)?

If Kakko and LaFreniere are off the table, that could be worse.

Miller/Schneider, Kravtsov and another asset is less appealing.
