I would flip out and take back every bad thing I've ever said about JR. Buffalo would have to have soured on him but he is the type JR would love as a reclamation project.

His salary is very ideal for the Canes as well:

I like the sound of the 14th+19th+Tyutin from Columbus. They are in a good position to do that, and would still come out of the 1st round with 2 first round picks

I do like it as well, been pushing it for a while. Tyutin is very underrated IMO, at a decent cap hit and on a long-term contract. Columbus has been rumored to try and move up and they have an abundance of D who are about to break into the NHL (Erixon, Prout, Murray, Savard, Goloubef, Etc.)

Skinner struggled a bit with injury and frustration last year, but he didn't hold a candle to Myers struggles. He looked ECHL caliber at some points, many blame the system and role they were tryin to force him to play and I'd accept that logic, but it was brutal to watch on occasion.

Skinner had a stretch where he had something like 1 point in 20 games. That's pretty close to being ECHL caliber.

True, but that means the other 22 games he was playing at ppg pace or All-Star level. He's got value still.

Are you sure it's not before the pick timer goes up? It seems a bit excessive to not allow trades during the actual draft. I could understand them saying that trades need to be processing before a team is actually on the clock but..... that makes no sense.
