So you were willing to overpay to move up 2 spots.

That's fine...except you complained that JR did the same thing last year for Staal.

And then there's the problem of trading 3 first round picks in a row. Not the smartest asset management

makes me feel better. only thing i didnt like about Lindholm was him not coming next year. With the out in the contract and the possibility of him making team, which i fully expect him to do, excited for the chance to see him next season

It was mentioned before that Lindholm had and out clause.

I am really liking this pick.

JR should have known last night that MacKinnon was going No. 1 and Barkov was going No. 2. I know I did. I'd have started the offer with our No. 1 next year and No. 5 for No. 3.

I'd have even considered giving up more in terms of picks.

SETH JONES people. We had a chance to get SETH JONES. I'm not sure why it's OK that we just sat there and took Elias Lindholm instead. I don't get it. I couldn't be any more disappointed.

dude just stop. we dont know that we had a chance. as has been said before, who knows that we didnt call and offer exactly what you are saying. and they still said no. we dont know. we most likely wont ever know. all we know is what happened. just please stop flooding this thread with your whining. some of us would actually like to follow this thread for other reasons. if you want to keep *****ing then go start a separate thread about it.

I need to stop thinking about this. This place is so frustrating sometimes.

Kev, I disagree, and I don't think your argument is well thought out, but you haven't resorted to strawman arguments, which is more impressive than usual for these boards, so you're OK in my book.

That tweet on Skinner sures sounds like JR is shopping him. Skinner for a top 4 D.

I think you can probably pencil Lindholm in on the roster this fall too.

yes, it was, after i made the comment that i didnt like it cause we needed someone to come in NOW and picked a guy with a contract for next year. a few minutes later it came out that he had an out clause so, yeah, now im definitely ok with it, if he makes the team.

I am also thrilled that we're talking about the need for an "out" clause and to move our No. 5 overall pick off his natural position if he's going to make the team this year. Brilliant.

They won't block me for two reasons, first of all, I'm at least thought-provoking. Secondly, deep down inside, they realize I'm right. They just don't want to admit that our franchise is floundering and won't get any better until JR is replaced.
