I wish we had taken Nurse at this point....

Am I missing something, or was Lindholm the only one who wasnt interviewed after being picked??

No. Just a couple people who feel every move JR does is bad.

I'm basing it on the fact that a) the team before us got SETH JONES, and b) every move JR has made in the past five years actually *has* been pretty bad.

Wow. The rose-colored glasses are out en masse today.

Lindholm is a good player, and may very well become a solid player in the NHL, but I feel alot of Swedes overrate him and hype him too much.

Tampa wasn't moving their pick. Nashville wasn't moving their pick. Stop harping on Jones.

What? Are you guys really think Lindholm was a bad selection? wow

Always seems to happen. People pick their favorites and stick with them. Even I do. But that said people need to see the big picture. This wasn't a reach, this was something the team needed, this is a flat out GOOD pick.

Trading for Tlusty was "pretty bad"?

Drafting Justin Faulk in the 2nd round was "pretty bad"?

Signing a winger for Staal finally was "pretty bad"?

All the haters need to tell us who would have been a better pick. And don't say anything abiut a trade. There hasn't been one yet and no one in the top four was going to trade anyway.

We weren't the only team to back off nichushkin. For jr to take a Russian with this pick, all questions had to be answered and then some. That's not the case here whether that's fair or not. Even if they had been answered it would've been a surprise.

Ok, say you're JR.

What would you have done? Tampa wanted Drouin, so they weren't trading their pick. Nashville had Jones #1 all year, so they weren't trading.

So, your move. Who would you have drafted?

You're saying that there was nothing JR could do. The top four were set in stone and he had no other choice. His hands were tied. He did the best he could with the cards he was dealt.

Which is exactly the same thing we've been saying for four years now. JR couldn't trade Ruutu or Whitney at the deadline. He had to sign Pitkanen and Gleason to long-term deals. Etc., etc.

JR never has a choice. He's always backed into a corner with his hands tied. No options. Right?
