As someone finally considering making the switch to an iPhone, what are the usual price drops in older models when the new models are released?

Yea and I typically rent movies so what I'm looking for is cheap 4K rentals. I'm not buying all this content. I already have Netflix and Amazon in 4K.

Considering that you can buy iTunes movie codes for the cost of renting them, I don't know why you wouldn't buy more. I buy almost everything since the codes are dirt cheap and Apple has had great $4.99 sales.

I'll have to check it out. So you're saying new released movies are $4.99 in 4K HDR??? I have not come across anything that cheap.

Anything already purchased from Apple will be auto-upgraded to HD. I am not aware of which movies will have that 4K upgrade.

I buy the codes and get them redeemed via iTunes. Those should also all be auto-upgraded to 4K. You can buy codes for some new movies for like $1.99.

Guardians 2 was $5.99 when I bought it last week.

Okay. The thing is also some of these movies are just upscaled and don't look much better. It depends if they were shot with 4k HDR cameras or better.

Well, yeah. Most new movies should satisfy that, though.

Again, the codes are the best ways to get movies on the cheap. People sell their iTunes codes regularly.

So the 8 is pretty much the 7s.

I know the X is the main draw here but many people are going to be settling for the 8 when they realize how long it'll take to get the X if production doesn't pick up.

Costco normally has cheap iTunes codes. $89.99 for $100 iTunes.

They also have sales sometimes that go as low as $84.99 I think? Maybe lower, not sure.

That's not what I mean by codes. I mean individual movie codes. When you buy a Blu Ray, you'll normally be given a digital download code. For Baywatch, for example, the code is for iTunes (this depends on the movie). Right now, you can buy a Baywatch code for about $1.99 or so. People do this to try and get some extra money out of their movie purchase.

So I tend to just buy these codes.

Yeah my bad, it hit me that you were talking about that after I posted
