Official 2024-25 Utah HC Season Discussion.

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Let’s see how they do on this eastern trip…. If they play like they did against Chicago, they don’t have a prayer

It was only 1 game, but the D coverage looks the same as last year. we can’t rely on our goalie to bail us out all the time..

Am very curious to see if this is the system ( Head or D coach) or the players

I don't like pairing Durzi with Sergachev, it looks like they are our only top 4 D and they don't compliment each other and the other 4 look like 2 bottom pairings thrown together. Really need Marino to settle things down. Was hoping for more from Maccelli's line.
Expecting things to settle down on this road trip regardless of how they did vs Chicago.

Seems that Utah is right where it should be in its rebuild. We always talked about needing good ownership for the Coyotes to succeed. This owner, from what I can gather, is all that and a bag of chips. The Team With No Name might become a dynasty. Wish I could say it was my team.

Wish they were playing with more weight. They get caved by heavy forechecks but they've dug deep and won both games so that's a positive for now. I really expected the islanders to be a tough test stylistically.

Need to cut the dumb penalties ASAP. Especially before the Rangers (highly unlikely) and Jersey (unlikely).

The 2nd period was a huge momentum shift to our opponents two games in a row.

The thing this team lacks right now is playing well for 60 minutes. Offense looks phenomenal. Defense looks middle of the pack without marino and Ingram has looked legit.

Just need a 60 minute game.

Like most hockey fans, I love the fights. But I freaking hate the added 2 min instigator penalties.
Who would have thought that after two games Durzi leads the team in PIM and has the only fight and O'Brien without a single PIM.

Have seen 2 of the first 3 games, and the offense looks great, maybe the defense needs to gel, or maybe its injuries but we are not going to score 5 every night. (although I would love it if we did). Maybe a stay at home defensment that could float between 2nd and 3rd pairing?

We need a steady defense first number 2 guy. Hopefully he returns from ir soon. And know our number 3 blew out his shoulder lol. We can't have nice things

I think bottom line you need to generate more than 6 shots per period
- keep the goals against to under 3
- don’t allow so many SA
- keep the penalties to 3 and under

The old Yotes mindset is if you win , you are good.. however it gives them a false sense of security , if they play bad and win, they continually learn bad habits that take forever to break

This is music to my ears. I know he's waiting for his Russian wonderkins to show up but let's keep this ball rolling. Playoffs/ Hunt this year is mandatory!

Time to add some decent D then...

Yetis or Yotes, this team's problem is the defence and discipline, and it's been the same for years now. Hell in my tier 6 team we identified our weaknesses and stopped doing stupid shit and started playing simple. Why cant paid pros do the same?
