The only issue I have with the Michigan is the wow factor attached to it. 12 yr old kids can pull it off. Every guy getting paid to play hockey can pull it off. It's not a skill move and doesn't deserve the praise it receives. It's actually played out now and guys know how to defend it.

Switzerland has a first round pick and doesn't even use him on the PP lol.

I actually liked Rodwin Dionicio a decent bit last year. Former forward converted to D and you can see it in his hands. Probably won't get drafted again because Niagara is a wasteland these days, but I would rather give him the contract Zanetti is going to get (NJ roots too).

That’s certainly a fine position to take on it. I wouldn’t disagree that the novelty is gone as it’s attempted more & it succeeds more now a days than ever before.

But the discussion mostly around this is it’s essentially yelling at the clouds because people are mad that Team Canada got upset last night.

Comes down to whether you can do it effectively or you're just trying to be cute.

Similar to basketball, where you see kids trying to do fancy dunks in games and bounce it off the rim and a fast break the other way, it's not the move itself, it's whether it's necessary or can you get the job done in a more effective manner. Showing off to the detriment of your team is immature, making a creative move b/c a conventional move has been blocked is what makes a player special.

@BigToe, yesterday you asked when Canada last lost their first game. To expand on the answer, it was the first time they have ever lost their opener at a tournament played in Canada.

They have never won a medal after losing the first game of the tournament, as well.

A better comparison is probably ballhandling, Deady Man.

That's crazy. I can't see this team not getting a medal though,

Went to the Slovakia/Finland game today. Honestly didn’t notice Nemec that much, but I was talking a lot with friends. Is the other Nemec his brother?

Finnish captain scored a nice wraparound goal. Winnipeg draft pick Lambert had a nice short side goal too.

Going to see Gauthier on NYE against Finland, and might go see him against Switzerland on the 29th.

…there’s a time and a place for those trick shots….(NHL ALL-STAR game)
I’m just from a different era and have a completely opposite view or mindset of the lacrosse goal!
When we played…it was called showboating and it ticked off the opposing team…and you were held accountable for hotdogging it.
I know my thoughts are dinosaur and man cave ideology but that just the way we rolled back then.
The NHL seem so fine with that kind creativity and individuality that Zegras has been their poster boy for the league!
I’ll have to chalk it up to me being a Fred Flintstone and not having the vision to evolve our great game!
At least I can joke about the Leafs least Cup win!View attachment 627065
Why not just watch old games from your glory days instead of getting pissy about the fact kids these days have way better puck skills and are trying to score in new ways in addition to the old ways.

Is Switzerland really about to f*** up the position they put themselves in with yesterday’s win over Finland here?

Sadly, no... We were so close. Solid play by the guys. Game vs Slovakia should be winnable.

Edit: people here are saying that Austria looks awful thus we should avoid relegation, but I am 100% sure this team is capable of more than just making sure they don't stay last.
