No, but I certainly have experience with grinding my teeth into dust lol

I get so much shit from my dentist haha

(my grinding started with the advent of advanced analytics)

My grinding started with the advent of childhood anxiety likely stemming from my parents getting divorced when I was 18 months . I'm a lifelong grinder (and anxious person - meds are a godsend).

It's not cheap, but it seems like it would be a good investment. I'd likely be in the liners for 8 - 9 months. And, bonus, the dentist said that most people drop some weight since they have to take the trays out to eat  We have more than enough in our HSA to cover the cost, and they allow you to pay over the course of 12 months after you pay a deposit.

Looks like I'm going to go forward with it. If I don't I may have more severe issues down the line.

Did the dentist say anything about drinking coffee/tea? I've heard people use straws in order to bypass the trays instead of removing them.

I'm heading to an Invisalign consultation shortly. I had braces in 5th/6th grade. I wore my retainer for a while but, admittedly, not as long or as consistently as I should have (does anyone wear them like they're supposed to?). The bigger issue was my wisdom teeth coming in - once those came, my front teeth got crowded.

Cosmetically, it's really not that bad or even noticeable (of course I notice it). The larger issue is I'm a bad teeth grinder at night and the crowding makes it virtually impossible to wear a night guard with any level of comfort/ability to sleep. Trying to see if uncrowding the front teeth will make life more comfortable with a guard, or even just wearing the Invisalign trays as protection.

Anyone here have experience with Invisalign?

After my teeth got crowded due to wisdom teeth in my 20s and 30s, I did invisalign in my 50s. I'm at the retainer stage after 3 rounds of aligners, 1 with the buttons. The first day of new aligners can feel a little tight, but never felt pain. You do need to wear them the recommended 20 hours a day. No cheating. I'm happy with the results.

If I had to do it over, the one thing I'd do different is buy one of these right away

And these tablets (the Zima ones are expensive):

Otherwise the appliances get gross and smelly, no matter how much you brush them. The ultrasonic cleaner and tablets get them sparkling clean, and they don't smell.

I took mine out for everything but drinking water. Residual coffee can stain them, but the ultrasonic cleaner and tablets get rid of any stains.

Apartment maintenance just came out and replaced my smoke detector batteries, finally. No more chirping.

They also installed new weatherstripping on the front door, although that was an adventure. The first one they put on was so tight, I couldn't open the door from the inside. So they had to put a different one on.

Found out there are plans to repaint all the buildings again this spring. I hope they go with a different color scheme, the black/grey is kind of blah.

Welp, I got my HF Lifer Award today - a couple days early for my 15th anniversary. :win:

I’d like to thank all the little people who helped make this possible! :DD (You know who you are.)

This is what is still on the ground at my apartment this morning, even after being above freezing yesterday.

Thanks for nothing, maintenance guys.

I definitely bought a new hat at the proshop the day after Danton got the hatty. 25% off.

I got this one with the code.

And then this one for my dad for his birthday in February. Proceeds go to a great cause.
Proceeds from Operation Hat Trick (OHT) merchandise will provide financial assistance to support the recovery of wounded service members and veterans and fill gaps in care that are not covered by other programs or agencies.

Operation Hat Trick raises awareness and support for the recovery of service members and veterans injured during combat. By purchasing OHT apparel, you are contributing to selected organizations that help them overcome the visible and invisible traumas of war. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this product will be donated to OHT.

My dad's going to love it.

I liked math until they started adding letters into it.

Yeah this was me too! Was flying along with math until we hit algebra and letters in the 8th grade and I think my interest and aptitude for it almost died overnight. I did remain ok at math throughout the rest of my schooling when I could apply it to something tangible, as in physics, because the science interested me even if the numbers didn't, but all the expressions and complex calculations and whatnot that were purely maths for maths' sake just wasn't for me.

My mom is turning 65 next month. Today I booked a hotel room for her and one for my husband and I at her favorite hotel in Ogunquit, and let her close friends and sisters know that was the plan. Several have already booked rooms to join us.

She hates surprises so I told her the plan and she is thrilled.

That is awesome!

I hate surprises too.
