I was never into the horses.

But there was one magical summer at Wonderland where I made small fortune with a dog named Rooster Cogburn.

Just because I was a John Wayne fan and loved that movie.

So I'm sick of taking phone calls in my current, full time position. I've been doing it for about 4.5 years, and while I'm very good at it...it's boring. I'm not challenged by work anymore.

If I could teach full time, I'd love it...but sadly, I only facilitate when we have new classes, which is a couple times a year. In addition, my teaching assignment is technically a TDY, 18-36 months, and I'm just over 2 years in. They've hired another couple trainers on the TDY, and I'm slowly being phased out of that. No problem, it is what it is.

Anyways. I've started applying for some other stuff within the company. Not opposed to something customer facing, but I could use a break. Have a friend in our Tech Ops (Maintenance) department who's a Supply Attendant. Essentially a part/tool runner for mechanics when they're servicing aircraft. It's a fast paced job (which I love), and while it's relatively simple, there's certainly going to be a learning curve, and that's exciting. I applied and he's recommended me to his managers.

I have an aptitude test this Thursday for it. We actually use the Wonderlic test. So I've been practicing. 50 questions in 12 minutes. Average person gets around 25 I guess. Just got a 41 (out of 48 questions answered) and I'm feeling real good. :D

Wonderlic is great, but what's your 40 time? ;)

All the best. Worst advice my parents ever gave me was if you have to work make as much money as possible. It's miserable. Do what you feel you'll enjoy most and something where you feel like you make a difference.

If it's a hangar situation,it may be fast paced,I always worked line stations and the stock clerks spent 70% of their time doing nothing. How many RONs or is it a phase check station with a hangar?

Job interview tomorrow.

I am so being taken advantage of in my current position. They have given me 8 more hours since I took the job almost 2 years ago. I think they are scared to death I'm going to quit.

the work load is only going to get worse.

Well I'm at a hub. We do overnight maintenance in our hangars on 757s, A330s, MD88 and MD90. We also do maintenance for Hawaiian's A330s and Virgin's 787s.

I forgot that MSP was a NWA hub. I interviewed there in 1986 but took a job with Eastern Airlines in Boston instead.

Wow, I found someone else besides the Dallas cowboys and my company that uses the Wonderlic!

I have yet to figure out how it is predictive of job success. But supposedly 25 is a decent score, so 41 is really good. I think our highest was around 36.
