Its so hard to do. Been there too many times . But I always get another dog. Love them too much.
Poor Oscar must feel lost too.
Glad you will adopt. Giving a forever home to an animal in need is one of my biggest causes.

:)

Coming home with the empty cat carrier was brutal.

Felix and Oscar had many epic battles long into the night in the never ending Stanley Cat Final. :):)

Sorry to hear about Felix, Fenway. My parrot passed away just about two years ago, and I still miss hearing her talk or ruffle her feathers when I enter the TV room.

The Vanilla Nut Taps thing is too funny...they said they'd have a "big announcement" in the next 24 hours yesterday, and I didn't connect the dots until I saw the announcement today. I thought it was going to be some DD Perks bargain or something. *sigh* Of course as soon as I saw the Vanilla Nut Taps, I knew it was too good to be true. But still....those actually do look kind of delicious.

I had to put one of my cats down today. It wasn't a total shock but we thought he had more time.

RIP Felix

I already know I will adopt a Felix II very quickly.

I am so sorry. :(

Felix was a handsome boy

So so very sorry. I can empathize and know how difficult that is. It's heavy grief.

Many hugs to you and knowing your fuzz face is at peace. :(

Perhaps I have had an easy life, but there aren't many things more difficult for me than listening to people who know nothing about sports try to talk about sports.

I'm not just talking about an "uninformed/undereducated fan". I'm talking about people who don't play or watch sports chiming in out of the blue.

Anyone else know that terrible feeling I'm talking about?

I'm pretty antisocial so I ignore most everyone. I do know what you mean though. The people that don't watch sports just talk about whatever's on the news. I did meet a woman however who asked me who my football team was and I said Minnesota and she said man tough break this year, your oline was decimated so it's no wonder why you fell apart. I was in awe. You generally don't get other than ugh, you suck.

Hockey talk around here is pretty bad. Maybe two out of ten people like it, and when I'm out at a bar or even at a church thing and I'm wearing Bruins whatever they are just so clueless. Rangers fans are by far the worst. There is a group of over adrenalized roid heads who talk about them constantly and they are just terrible. It's painful. I'd rather listen to the bored housewives talk about thier unromantic husbands.

I can say honestly that growing up in Boston as a hockey fan the one fanbase that I came to loathe were the Celtics fans who dismissed anyone who followed the Bruins as lowlifes. It was really bad in Cambridge in the 80's and I lost friendships over it.

To me the ultimate vindication of being a Bruins fan came in June, 2011 - not the night they won in Vancouver but 3 days later when they had the parade.

The 2011 Bruins parade rivaled the 2004 Red Sox parade in the sheer number of people that poured into the city. The best metric available is MBTA passenger counts and the 2011 Bruins actually had bigger numbers than the 2004 Red Sox but the 2013 Red Sox parade did exceed the Bruins. The 2008 Celtics didn't come close.

The Patriots parades were hampered simply because of cold weather and always on a weekday. I also know that the 2011 Bruins generated bigger TV ratings in the Final than the 2008 or 2010 Celtics did.

I wish the Celtics well but my focus in the winter is on the Bruins.

Awwww so sorry to hear your kitty Fenway, it's always so hard.

Is anyone else watching the women's WC? Can't find a thread anywhere and it kinda irks me. Russia is coming along nicely, improvement each tournament to my eyes. US v Canada was an awesomely entertaining game to watch. Fast, gritty and physical and they were left to play, it was awesome.

Sucks about the cat.

We got our first cat last summer and we love her. She's great.

Been wanting to weigh in on the music debate. I find my tastes have evolved substantially the last year plus.
I got burned out on the same classic rock/80s hair metal and expanded my horizons.

I like a lot of different music, even stuff I used to dislike like Springsteen and DKMs.

I don't listen much to heavy metal anymore. I love Slipknot, Slayer and Metallica working out but not casually anymore.

A friend of mine introduced me to Florida Georgia Line, Chase Rice and Sia and I really like it, would never have found it on my own.

Still dig "pop" rock like Shinedown and Onerepublic.

Listen to Christian a lot now as it centers me and relaxes me. Just at a point in my life now where I crave peace and calm.

Highly recommend Deva Premal. She isnt "Christian", she's more Eastern, but you might like it.

sorry fans, the thread where you can ask questions regarding visits to Boston is locked. Were staying at Boston Park Plaza when we come down to see Tom Petty, is it located within a reasonable walking distance from the TD or will we be best served taking the T

Again, sorry Mods, but the other thread locked
