Congrats on the retirement, did it myself 5 years ago after 38 years with the same employer. No regrets at all. Don't miss the work but do miss a lot of the people I worked with.
You need to read Jason Fung’s book The Obesity Code, I too was pre diabetic, but read his book and started implementing his program and my A1C returned to normal within a couple of weeks. Worth reading, and you niw have ghe time! Thanks. I’ve cut my calories in that I’ve stopped eating anything with processed sugar (other than the odd coffee with sugar in it). I’m getting tests done here and I’m likely diabetic. I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes a couple three years ago.
Well that's it -- I officially retired as of today.

It’s a great book with a bad title, you don’t need to be obese to benefit from the book. The concepts are so simple and easy to implement……..Congrats brother! Enjoy it
I second this! My doctor made me read this and it fixed me up right away, good tangible strategies
Makes sense, it's matches the amount of bullshit.
25 years in banking and I’m going to start to use this verbiage when necessary as my usual “well you are seriously fcuked” has been found to be contrary to our company Code of Conduct, as has been my next go to, which is advising to buy lotto tickets….My retiremanet plan basically is hoping that we get all murdered by AI or enslaved by aliens in the next 20 years
Man, I love me some split pea soup, make it all the time, a meal unto itself……..
Leaf fans sue the team they love, you can’t make this shit up if you tried. Someone has to pay for Marner’s next contract, why not those who religiously support the team……..Anyone else get an email in the last week regarding Ticket Fees Display Class Action Notice ?
I've done some research and it seems legit, just looking for any further clarification.

"One section with the largest increases was near the top of the building, in the purple section, where two season tickets went from $8,522 this season to $10,396 for next year," wrote Mirtle.
What does that have to do with Ticketmaster and an issue with concert fees in 2018?Maple Leafs Fans Livid With MLSE Over Ridiculous Price Hike Beginning in the 2025-26 Season
Maple Leafs fans are voicing their displeasure over MLSE's quiet announcement regarding a very significant, expensive change for the Leafs' 2025-26 season.
In a piece for The Athletic on Monday, Leafs reporter James Mirtle revealed that a number of season ticket holders reached out to him outraged about a significant price increase in their tickets for next season.

Mirtle noted that a number of fans that contacted The Athletic were on the fence about renewing their tickets due to the significant cost increase which sees Stanley Cup Final games priced at almost $2000 per ticket in the lower-bowl.

MLSE response.
Silence peasants!
You will pay for our overpays, buyouts, exorbitantly lavish perks and be happy! The most expensive front office is here to entertain you, have you not been entertained? Now off with you and be grateful the prices are not higher! Tempt us more, we dare you.
MLSE (But could be a message from the govt of Canada etc as well)
The only thing more outrageous than the near 20-percent increase in some areas for next season is MLSE stating that some tickets are 'historically underpriced' related to market demand.
Despite the outrage from Leafs fans, hell will freeze over before MLSE looks at a price freeze or decreasing prices given that the waitlist for season tickets is more than 12,000 patrons long, which is unfortunate for the average fan. The corporate greed continues to turn Scotiabank Arena into a glorified movie theatre and it appears it will only get worse.
Welcome to what the government has done to the economy…….Jesus, $11 for a pint..
Winner winner chicken dinner……..Its the kind of thing that makes you think to yourself. This is exactly why even though it looks like we should be winners, we just remain losers.
The excessively greedy organisation develops greedy players that are more focused on their greed than winning at the sport they say they love.
Father MLSE is just like their sons
It's gotten crazy out there. McSorley's has "Happy Hour" from 2-5pm for $6 pints and always a BOTD for $7 from Monday - Friday.Jesus, $11 for a pint..
