I find it harder and harder to chew steaks. :) last time I took my wife to the KEG, I got the prime rib. Then took me half an hour to floss

I am almost certain i saw Carey Price drive by that place in a Lambo once but it might be a different very expensive restaurant.

I yelled at him "can I have your car" but he didn't respond.

I don't enjoy spending time with my family enough to take them on a road trip. Full stop.

I have the sweetest kid in the world but COVID broke me as a parent. That's no exaggeration.
Nobody likes their whole family with a kid factor enough to do a road trip lol, it’s nuts. Road trips as 20-somethings with buds, awesome, couple kids driving each other nuts in back seat, less so. Recent bias right here. You hit it anyways because f*** it, or not, both are right lol. There’s a reason it’s a Chevy Chase meme. Go easy on yourself.

But no, it was ok. Saw some awesome parts of this country. Cape Breton is amazing. When I execute my retirement plan of a cabin in the woods with only one source of electricity, a fence to keep family and friends out, it’ll be there.

I've been to Cape Breton once.

Heading over to enemy lines tomorrow (Montreal) with the fam.. bio dome and all that fun stuff. Being left behind Friday while wife and kids drive back and I wait for friends to show up for weekend of Metallica, poutine and beers... Looking forward to hitting up good ol' Foufs again.

Montreal sub for what to do there has not been helpfull. Lol posted a week ago and no help from anyone there. (I've been before, just not since post COVID days and was just curious what they'd recommend)

I am also going to Metallica both shows with my bud. Our plan is to just be drinking the whole time. Downloaded a bunch of old Nicolas Cage movies to keep us entertained. Planning to do 0 city exploration or leaving the house except for getting more booze. My friend has a 6 year old with autism, so talk about being mentally broken.

Any of you guys play an instrument? I've played guitar for 20+ years and can't recommend it enough as both a hobby and as a way to help with stressful shit in your life.

Best wishes to your buddy.

He's earned this time off, please help him enjoy himself.:)

Looking to upgrade my hifi at home.
Looking at purchasing a streamer and came across the eversolo.
Not sure of there are any audiophiles here but would be interested in opinions.

for small radios you can’t go wrong with anything Tivoli makes, I have a Portable PAL and a Model 1, both with bluetooth, the sound quality from that small a speaker is unbelievable, of course when I need to get my ya ya’s out nothing beats a big hi fi system, having said that the Tivoli’s get way more use………

I bought a nice one with the intention of learning, then my home life went to shit and my free time all but disappeared.

I should sell it.

Give it a shot bro, like anything worth learning, the beginning is tough but as you learn a few tricks it gets easier.

I play guitar too, not very good but working on it. I used to play just acoustic, got to be what I'd call a decent campfire guitarist, then started with electric a few years ago. Making slow progress, sure is fun though. I just put one of my two guitars up for sale, there was no interest whatsoever and since it's just too good a guitar so reduce the price much, I decided to keep it. It's a Canadian made Tele style guitar (Godin Stadium HT), I removed the low E string, left it tuned to open G and started learning some Stones tunes. I must say I'm glad nobody bought this, so much fun, can't wait until next jam with my buddies.

Here's a pic from before I removed the bottom E string.

@Gary Nylund what wood top is that, almost looks like walnut, beautiful
Canadian Laurentian Basswood. I think this maybe only grows in Quebec, it's great for guitars because it's pretty lightweight but still solid and I believe that's what Godin uses for most if not all of their guitars.

I love that this guitar is Canadian made with Canadian wood, that it's lightweight (I will never again buy a guitar that weighs much more than 7 pounds) and that the grain shows so nicely.

Yeah basswood is super light and easy to work.

Some of those old full thickness Les Paul's feel like you're lifting a cinder block lol

Thanks. Am starting with a streamer and Dac combination. Will now go down the rabbit hole scouring reviews.
I love good tech. I already decided on a new TV for my living room. Bought a Samsung s95b 65 last year for my den and was super pleased. Going with s95c 77" for the living room, once the price drops in the fall. I will look for a receiver to pipe everything into it (including the streamer) when my renos are done , my new network is up and get the TV.

imo, audiophile and streaming don't belong in the same sentence, quality sound from streaming or itunes will never touch the quality of a CD or Album, plenty of cheap options to get good sound at a reasonable price by foregoing the high end stuff, as long as you have quality speakers everything else is secondary imo. I run a pair of Kinima speakers through a passive subwoofer with two 12"woofers hooked up to a 80 watt amp no bigger than a cigarette pack in my garage via a ipod dock that sounds unbelievable for what it is, almost as good as my NAD stereo in my livingroom, but at a fraction of the price..........
