It’s a high bar.

On a camp site in Cape Breton me b’ys, river running past it, not a soul around and yet for some reason a signal. Put it on the bucket list, it’s so good.

Looks sicks...you near Cabot Cliffs Links? I'm a big golfer and was looking into playing the course there, it's world renowned.

I'd say it's more of a highball than a highbar

It was all kinds of highs ye ole Leafer Lounge, sometimes a nice Tom Collins on a patio after work with friends, sometimes a bad acid trip spiralling out of control.

Saw it, yes. I’m not much of a golfer for lack of time (and ability lol) but it looked gorgeous, wish I could have hit a round.

Cabot Trail, French Mountain?

Ya, spot on. Far end of the Skyline Trail in Cape Breton National Park. Super busy trail but for a reason, spectacular payoff.

Somewhere out there @Transplanted Caper is tripping high down memory lane with us talking of Cape Breton and Leaf Lounge lol..

10 day trip, hitting 5 national parks. Ferried over to PEI today, now on a site that I could toss a baseball into the Atlantic from. Brutal amount of driving but heck of an adventure.

Is riding an ebike proof of abject failure?

I've noticed a few things about people who ride ebikes/escooters:

1. They are lazy. Why do they negate the exercise you can get if you just ride an actual bicycle?

2. They are not the most wise consumers. They fork out $3000 and then have to pay the same cost to replace the battery.

3. Makes me wonder how many have lost their licence due to drinking and driving and are forced to ride e.

4. Many use an ebike to deliver skip the dishes, etc. Not exactly the best job and many seem to do it desperately. They are the worst drivers on the road and they look down at their phones for navigation almost the entire time they ride through the city.

5. I'm sure drivers have more run-ins with them than they ever had with shitty cab drivers in the city.

Am i being too harsh?

If any are interested in excellent unbiased whisky reviews check out my friend in Ireland whose sampled hundreds of whisky etc.

Hes never steered me wrong...
I've discovered that there are some quite good Welsh whiskys. Aber Falls has a good single malt, and Penderyn has several.

I'm a member of the Toronto Bike Club, and a number of the members (maybe 5%) have ebikes, but they are all the pedal assist type, where you have to pedal, and you can get a bit of help when needed, but only up to about 30 kph. You're still doing most of the work, and getting exercise, but some of the older members find they need a bit of a boost, particularly on hills. (Not me yet, I'm only 70.)

But I agree - the fully powered bikes, along with scooters, skateboards, unicycles, onewheels, and hoverboards are frequently a menace. Real cyclists hate them too.

Good on you to do cycling regularly. How far do you ride?

Tuesdays and Fridays we usually do 20-25 K, within the GTA. Saturdays or Sundays usually 50-60 a bit farther afield. For example, a couple of weeks ago we met in Erin, rode the rail trail to and around Lake Belwood, had lunch, then ride back.

Fun and good exercise, and it keeps me in shape for hockey.

There are some (younger) more serious type who will do 70-100K on a Saturday or Sunday, and some who will do an easier 30-40. But we're usually in groups of 6 to 20.
