I was from the Houston area before moving to SoCal. I was a big Houston Oilers fan in the 90s and when they moved to Tennessee I followed them for a few seasons. Basically until the team was unrecognizable then that was it. If the Kings moved it would be similar and then I'd look for a more local team.

My family wasn't extremely partial to any of the local teams, although I felt there was more of a Raider lean from my father as I'm an '80 born and the Raiders won a Super Bowl in 1983. I think for Christmas '84, I got a plastic locker and both a Joe Montana and a Marcus Allen jersey/helmet set. Living in Huntington Beach, however, led to the household still pulling for the Rams but not crazy about any one team in particular.

With my NFL fandom being left up to me, I took the usual child route of loving the winners. Was way into the '85 Bears and then LT and the '86 Giants. I don't know why but I took a real liking to Glanville and the Run-n-Shoot, "House of Pain" era Oilers and I finally settled on a team.

The Oilers remained my team and I stayed with them in Tennessee until the early 2000's when they weren't comprised of too many former Oilers. I lived outside of Charlotte when the Panthers were awarded to the city so I adopted them as my NFC team. The Oilers move pretty much coincided with the Panthers formation so I had some split allegiance until Carolina became the preference around the turn of the century. Been enthusiastically riding the Panthers train full-time ever since.

So now that my NFL bio is out of the way, the answer to the hypothetical is I would follow them in their new city only due to liking the players but my interest would quickly dissipate. After having season seats for this long, I feel it would be too depressing to be watching every "Kings" game on television as they played in a new city.

There is no way I would switch to the Ducks. I would also qickly lose interest in the sport as it is not the sport I fell in love with back in the 80s and 90s. I don't really watch any other games besides the Kings anymore because they are mostly boring with little passion or physicality. If I don't have a vested interest, I'm not going to continue following the NHL as it continues to get softer and softer.

I've probably missed less than 10 home games since 2001. For this season, I made it so my parents have season seats with me along with the ones I already owned so I am in control of eight seats...pretty much the whole row. Kings games are an event for me: it's become more than just hockey. I would not be able to just flip a switch and do the same in Anaheim. If you can do so, you love hockey more than the Kings and that is completely okay: I just easily love the Kings more than hockey at this point.

People here feel betrayed. They HATE Stan K. I tell that is exactly how Rams fans feel about Georgia F. I have been reminding them that LA is just returning the favor.....21 years later.

Is going to make the Feb 18th game v the Blues, an interesting night.....and I have tickets. :yo: :handclap:

Maybe you can add to your reminder list for your friends that Stan K. actually earned his money.

(well, actually I have no idea how he got this $$ - but I doubt he snuffed out his 4th or 5th spouse for it)

Really tired of these people who put more emphasis on having "sympathy" for Stl fans rather than being happy for starving LA fans.

Short-sighted losers. It's only been 21 years since the table was turned but I didn't see any such sympathy for Los Angeles Rams fans. But what I did see was a-hole signs all around Busch stadium when the Rams played their first game there, saying stupid things like "Thanks L.A.!"

Incredible hypocrisy at its finest from the midwest.

THE LOS ANGELES RAMS EXISTED FOR NEARLY 50 YEARS.

How do people ignore that? I don't feel sorry at all for St. Louis fans. The Rams weren't their team.

I answered that moron over there on that Page 2 thread. Check it out. I don't believe he can have an answer for that.

RP, check this idiocy out. SI has turned into a New York subway men's stall toilet rag that has been employed for five years. Such unprofessionalism.

The second I read "Voice of the Fan" I knew it would be a big, drawn-out, emotional production.

The league has become expert at using our emotions to extract dollars. That is what matters most to them.

Give. Me. A. Break.

It was a completely classless act by a little man who profited greatly by being in St. Louis.

Ah classless, yes. That word is like white noise to me.

It was a completely classless act of revenge from a little man who profited greatly by being in St. Louis.

Ccccccccccccccssssssssssssssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

He not only made himself look pitiful, he also made the NFL look like a heartless organization that only cares about money.

Newsflash - every sports team is a business.

I will do my best to spend my money on companies that care about me as a customer.

Ha.

I used to think my fandom for the #Rams would survive a move to LA. But I refuse to support anything of Kroenke's after what he did to STL.

#LOL

Stan Kroenke, we hate you.

Now this I like. Straight to the point.

We are strong. We deal with tornados, floods, severe ice storms—hell, even riots.

*yawns*

From all of us here in St. Louis, you aren't welcome here anymore. I hope the door smacks that nasty toupee off your head on the way out.

Now that's classless and uncalled for.

Using her podcast, The Kelly Manno Show, as a platform, Kelly raised money from listeners to send cow poop to Stan Kroenke's doorstep.

Does he put gas in his car? Does he power his house with electricity, gas, and water? Does he pay his cell phone and cable bill? Pretty sure he's a stat to all of them.

Now, now.

I'm sure his cable company cares deeply of him as a person, just like they care about all the Dodger fans in Los Angeles.

Oooohhhhhhh waiiiiiitttttt...

I find it amazing that people think Kroenke is any different than Frontierre or that what is happening to St Louis Ram fans is any different than what happened to LA Ram fans 20 years ago.

It's fine if you are happy they are back but I don't see a reason to not feel bad for the good fans there or even worse, bash them for being upset.

St Louis fans bash us, so we bash them back. **** them, really.

You probably already explained it but I missed it. Why are you such a debbie downer with this? Are you sticking with your current NFL team?

You sound like a ducks fan talking about kings fans.

Sorry if offend you, but it's true.

Have you ever been to a Raiders game in the Coliseum? I went to a few, but after all the fights and the one guy ending up in a coma in a Raiders/Steelers game I attended in 1990, that was it for me. Raider fans are the ****ing worst. I was at that game with a friend who is a die-hard Steelers fan, and all I remember is several ****-head Raiders fans wanting to fight both of us. I got purposely bumped hard by a couple of real a-holes, definitely trying to stir something up. I couldn't afford to fight some POS at the time because I held a national security clearance, and if I lost that, I lose my job. So I just had to take it, as much as I wanted to mop up the floor with that POS.

Going to a Raider game at the Coliseum was like participating in an open prison.

because Geoff Courtnal and Jack Clark.

And what Kroenke did is much different simply because he's bringing my football life back.
