Not sure about that, some games are exclusively on ESPN+ and Hulu and from what I've read having ESPN doesn't mean you have ESPN+

It's all way too confusing. Just let me buy something that lets me have all the hockey on all the networks that can run through Roku (or any other platform) and my phone, both live and on tape delay in case I want to watch it again, and with no out of or in market stipulations. I don't mind paying for it, show me the ads! but I don't want 5 services just to see my team play and I want my team, others, playoffs, and preseason if they're available.

Yeah so I do have access to ESPN+ so think I have that covered. I'm hoping between having ESPN, TNT, ESPN+, Bally's App, etc. that I should have most bases covered. Of course Youtube TV doesn't have NHL Network so if we end up with a game solely on that channel I'll just take the L, drive over to Jonathan's, or sail the high seas.

But yes... it should definitely not be this complicated.

Looking at everything you should be covered for all 82 games. I don't think NHL Network does exclusive games anymore...or they at least don't have a Preds exclusive this season.

72 on Bally Sports
5 on ESPN+
3 on ESPN
2 on TNT

Also when going over this I discovered the season opener at Tampa on 10/10 starts at 4:30 central

i use the XFINITY streaming app. It is basically their “basic” cable channels. The caveat is that some of the channels can’t be streamed unless you are connected to your home internet connection (not a big deal for me).

This was something that always drove me nuts with Xfinity vs. the streaming services. Friends of mine could access their streaming TV and DVR from basically anywhere while many of the Xfinity functions were locked to your house. So archaic.

We just got Google Fiber (love it, by the way) and are looking to drop Xfinity altogether so I was looking at other services. DirectTV Streaming seems to have a lot of what I want sports wise including the option for RSNs. I don't know if it is any cheaper than Xfinity Stream since because we're already xfinity customers it defaults to what I have now.

  1. Me: Oh I hope mom is not upset about me moving. Mom: need help moving! OMG! I will turn your room into a laundry room!

  2. [10:02 PM]
Me: I....love you too...Mom. Mom: you even found a guy to help move stuff! I'll pay for him!

Some dread an empty nest. Some just want you to GTFO

I will say I dreaded the empty nest until it happened. Now I have a golf simulator in my house, the house always has food and it stays relatively clean.

My wife and I are empty nesters. Like Triggerman said, we always have food in the house.

I have been throwing stuff out for a year. My wife retired and brought a surprising amount of more stuff home from her teaching job. I expected the red pens, but the chairs, seven of them? When my daughter moves, I expect 4 of them to leave with their glass table. She came back for one day when it was 100 F. Her apartment building doesn't have AC and she works from home 80% of the time.

My MIL died, so we have 4 Large boxes of photos, which will leave before hockey season begins.

Now, you guys can give me crap for temperature. House suck to 60F (15.5C) and we finally turned on the propane heater. Now, one member of the family is cranking it up to 80F, whereas I would like 72F Max.

I try to stick it at 65! My wife wants like 80+, but I don't understand the need to walk around in the winter wearing shorts and a t-shirt? Yeah, I can put on a sweater if it ever gets there? It's actually more of a stress point than you might think when the divide gets to that extreme? :dunno:

I have MS which makes me heat sensitive. I am caring for my mom who is on blood thinners which makes her cold. Her diet is killing me and yadda yadda.

When I was younger and thinner I was cold all the time. Not any more! Now my skinny old housemate (AKA Mr Adz) gets cold and I tell him to put on a sweater. Seems fair.

To continue on with empty nest, I guess I was always preparing for that. My mentality was you prepare your kids to cope with the world and when they can they leave. And that has happened, but I was older when it happened. My daughter is having a worse time with it, as Jr Jailbait is 15 and college stuff has started to arrive (8 years age difference between when she had her first and I had my first)

Bullshit she’s not old enough to have a 15 year old

Does February 29th have some special significance for you beyond Leap Day?

It is always the 60th day of the year.

Some people (Greeks and Scots) think that Leap Years are unlucky.
It's Bachelors Day*, aka the day I asked Mr. Adz to marry me back in 1980 after we'd been dating for 2 weeks. He said yes but he didn't say when.

*I'd always confused it with Sadie Hawkins Day because of L'il Abner but when I looked it up I found out they're different days. Oops.

Thanks, she's still a very sweet person. But she's definitely a grown up now! To make us all really feel old, today is Goalie Boy's 33rd birthday. He was 12 when most of you first met him. My grand is as old as her mom was.

Yes, I'm stunned.
Jeez. But I guess Nick wasn’t born yet and he’s 19 and Avery is 23. Crazy how time flies. I forget BC’s real name, do you ever hear from him?

I remember when Nick was born! Gordon Boulton. I haven't heard from him since the Cup run. He showed up outside my section and I was delighted to see him!
