I guess I'm just not observant. Haven't noticed the ads.

Just a note, Predsboro's mom passed today. I'm sure he'd appreciate your prayers or comforting thoughts.

He posted that she'd passed away on Facebook. Her last name would be Warren. You may be able to find it at Woodfin's

After an extended illness, my wonderful Mother passed away peacefully last night with family at her side. Visitation will be Monday 5 December from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Woodfin's Memorial Chapel ... graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery.

Thank you for everything Momma ... rest easy.
Gah. I don't think we've met at all, but that's still never fun. :( May her memory be a blessing.
I met his dad a few times when he'd come with PB to games but don't remember ever meeting his mom. She was Canadian, that's about all I knew about her, and her love for hockey influenced him in his love for the game.

Thank you but this is the mother of a former poster and current fan. I was just letting people know. I'll still accept the love and prayers, though, because you can never have too much of either.
Ah, condolences to Predsboro and then consider this as prayers towards a successful surgery!

I was watching the Amazing Race last night. The finale for season 34 was in Nashville! They had people deliver guitars to Tootsie's, the Wild Horse Saloon (visited there in 2001) and Whiskey Bent. My younger co-worker knew about the latter. I wasn't familiar with it, even though I probably walked by it coming from or going to the Johnny Cash Museum. The contestants went to the Nashville Memorial Auditorium in scene like Tom Hanks and Robert Loggia in "Big". Next was a trip to the Ryman Auditorium (right around the corner from Tootsie's) for the end. The brick facade looks better at night because the lighting is more even.

Start my new job on Monday. It's going to be awesome with work only being 3-4 minutes from the house.
Sometimes those things you think are a problem end up being a solution. Good luck!

I had my second SLT yesterday, for the glaucoma. Doc says first eye has gotten good results and there were no complications with this one. Still having some problems with light but that's normal.

Yeah I'll be making less per hour but cut out an hour drive and the insurance is half as much so basically going to break even.

Then my wife comes and talks to me about a possible job in Murfreesboro ( she currently works from home), and I asked her if we could just enjoy not burning up a new car for once in our lives. I don't think she will do it, I don't think she really wants to go back to getting up at a set hour, getting ready and then needing to drive to work.

Hopefully the eyes continue to improve!

Back when I was a sweet young thing and getting ready to have a baby, I pondered staying at my job. I was a pre-kindergarten teacher in a facility that was also a daycare so I would get reduced daycare--once baby was 18 months, they weren't licensed for infants. So I had to weigh different things--gas, clothing, and paying for daycare. Worked all the numbers and it would end up costing us $50 a month for me to be a stay at home mom. The difference in taxation made up for that and then Mr. Adz got a raise. I stayed home til Goalie Boy was in elementary school and wouldn't trade it for the world. After he got into school I taught again -- at their school. Sometimes life just works out.

I learned something by reading your post!

My eye pressure has always been normal. I hope that yours will be normal too!

OK, the weather Saturday here in the People Republic of NY will be a high of 'Ah, Hell.' a low of 'Oh Jesus Christ' with a wind chill of 'FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH.................'

I heard that it went from 48 F to 15 F in Nashville in a few hours. They are showing the outside of the Hard Rock Cafe on the Weather Channel. I ate lunch there with my wife two summers ago.

Here is some free advice. Don't go outside for a few days. If you must go out, wear layers, cover as much skin as possible. Put some vasoline on your nose, cheeks and maybe your ear lobes. If you jump into your car, take a phone with a charger, a warm blanket, some water and a snack or two just in case. A few hand warmers, like Hot Hands, might be useful, if you can get some. Up here in Milwaukee, you can get them from most Walgreen's and maybe Target stores. They will last up to 10 hours. You can put them in your gloves or boots.

Now is the time to do some baking. Pies, pot pies and pizzas are good to make and eat. Stay warm!

Put towels on the base sills of doors to keep warm. I saw the blizzard happening at BNA. If you got plastic to seal windows, do it.

Layer up socks.

Like AdsFan said, bake, your oven will act like a secondary heatter.

Not political but practical COVID masks can work like a mini scarf. They trap hot breath.

The double socks and towels or rugs on the bottoms of doors is something my dad brought from South Dakota.

It is 9 below here, the coldest day this year. (In January, it was 5 below.) The WC is - 32 F.

Ni blizzard just cold. Not much snow.

We lost power last night. Two transformers a couple of streets over blew and it was dark and cold. Was in the 20s then, got colder. Houses lose heat faster than I thought! Came back on at 11 PM. We had places to go and my daughter was planning to come get us in the truck. It was -1° around 8 AM. My friend in Nebraska said it only got up to -4° yesterday. I'm staying inside. No game for me tonight.

It is still -5 F here at 12:40 PM. The Wind Chill is -31 F. We won't make too far in the plus numbers today.

Keep warm!

I've pushed a blanket up by the door. That has helped a lot! Should have thought to do that last night! We have had rolling blackouts in Nashville but my sister said that had been canceled. Not sure why that would be but we are hoping it stays that way!

It's currently zero here in SE Ohio. That wind is brutal.

Had my Dad run to our house and get the water dripping since we aren't home.

I know there have been several outages in Shelbyville and a friend in Goodlettsville has been out all day and they are probably heading to a hotel tonight.

Luckily the snow wasn't too bad so we should be able to get home Tuesday morning.
