It was $2.92 at my Thornton's yesterday. Probably going to be glad I gassed up!

Update: Tonight it's $3.19 Saved 3.78, enough for a half carton of (mini) Dr. Pepper.
Some of our local BPs are up to $4. I heard that they shut down two refineries in the Gulf of Mexico due to Ian.

I filled up last night, and car was totalled this morning....... Actually it's a rental, as my truck is still being repaired from me hitting a concrete stanchion I didn't see, one day after Nick was tboned in his car. So yeah, my insurance is getting tired of hearing from me, even though that's the first claim in 20 years, and 2 of the 3 were not our fault, and really neither was avoidable.

Glad you are OK to post after the crash.

Meanwhile that gas in ground is exactly the same stuff they were selling for less than 3 earlier. It's just legal price gouging.
Probably just replacement cost pricing, on a much smaller scale I bought 160 gallons of farm diesel fuel last year filling my tank at a fraction of what it costs to refill it now and a neighbor used 90% of it during the year and my tank is empty. He pays in December for all the fuel he used during the year. So if for example if I paid $2.75 per gallon being smart before the price increases so I had it for myself should I charge him $2.75 and refill the tank at $4.60 giving him the benefit of my smart personal purchase then having to pay much more to replace what I bought for myself? I think not! I already told him that I'm going to charge him what it costs to replace what I had at current pricing and he understands that all he is doing is paying to replace what he used. I deserve to use 160 gallons of fuel at what I paid for it when I smartly filled my tank, not at a much higher price because he used my fuel for himself.

I would agree with that. If you'd sold to him in increments over the course of the year he'd have had highs and lows but you're taking a risk in buying that much and not getting paid til December. If it was $4 when you bought it in January and $1 in December he wouldn't expect to pay you $4 per gallon.

Keep in mind too that I'm providing a service, he just comes by next door to get fuel that I buy for the farm which is exempt from pump retail diesel fuel taxes and get a bulk price. His other option is to drive miles away paying current prices with retail highway taxes in 5 gallon containers instead of pumping it directly into his tank.

There are cities in Florida that are trying to do their best impression of Atlantis

The war in the Ukraine is a unwarranted travesty.

There are people dying unjustly. There are people starving. There are people who are sleeping without a home.

Your stubbed toe don't mean shit! You being slightly cold will pass. You being 'sniffly' is annoying not dramatic.

Being annoyed is just another sign you are alive and strong.

there are many dying justly too. Florida isn't doing an Atlantis redux ... damaged but recoverable. People have starved since the creation of people ... some is arguably unfair, some is the direct result of life choices ... same goes for homelessness ... sometimes the inevitable outcome of poor decisions bites one in the backside.

As the center of the universe, MY stubbed toe is a celestial issue.

Someone asked if I was in that group pic in the SC Bern thread but the thread is closed so I can't answer. I was in front far left, big gal with silver blonde hair. Right in front of Crispy. Patty Pred is not on this trip. My sister is also in the pic over near the right. We got separated. Here we are again. Sis on left, our group on right

Didn't have "school will be shut down early today because of a tornado" on my Wisconsin October bingo card, yet here we are.
We had planned for an outside movie event for work tonight, food trucks, 20' tv, etc, we moved it indoors but since we had to shelter in place for 35 minutes, the mood sorta left.... We'll see if anyone returns for the event.

I just finished lunch and was headed for my desk when our weather alert and several people's phones all went off at the same time. I heard that tornadoes were sighted in New Berlin (SW), Brookfield (NW), Mequon (N) and Whitewater, which is about an hour SW of Milwaukee. I grabbed my computer and read some emails as my co-workers and I sat in our conference room. We have a concrete ceiling and no windows in the room
