The only remaining COVID issues we have now are just the hybrid wfh practice in the office. As the economy continues to slow though I imagine more and more will be back.

I know in the tech world layoffs are happening now. The next 2 years will be interesting for sure. I know Apple just had a bit of attrition after announcing they were returning to the office, ADP too. It just saved them from layoffs. What happens though when the job market tightens? Because those days are coming.
I am always at work in person M - F.

I hope to retire in 2026 and then running the world becomes other people's problem.

One young woman that I worked with quit her job in February and moved to Africa to help poor people and orphans. The time to do that is when you are young. (I help out locally with the Hunger Taskforce, which feeds the poor and elderly here in Wisconsin. I encourage people to volunteer for the charity of their choice. That should be easy down there in the Volunteer State!)

It's been the one good thing about manufacturing, outside of supply chain issues here and there we haven't had any covid issues in well over a year. I think some of the salesmen and a few of the customer service people are working from home still, but based on what I'm hearing that is going to come to a hault. Neither group has been worth a damn as of late.

Other than people continuing to work from home it's almost like the past. When certain shoots come in we do have to wear masks in their presence since that was their requirement. The water fountains are still covered but pretty much all the other requirements fell by the wayside.

I look forward to the day that COVID-19 is behind us. ---

Monday, I was able to get an Omicron 4 & 5 booster after work and it had no after effects. It was the first day of availability here. Mrs. Adsfan received one on Friday. I have never had COVID and I am trying to keep it that way. We are down to about 50% of people in the US sharing that state with me.

Good health to you all!

I haven't had actual Covid 19 unless it showed up as a false negative, despite living in the same house as someone who had it. I may have had another coronavirus, though. After Thanksgiving last year I got really sick (as did other family members) but no one tested positive. We're not sure about son -- he had something in March 2020, before things started shutting down, that upon reflection seem likely to have been but was not diagnosed. Other than him, family has all had it except for my mother, my younger granddaughter and me. I want it to stay that way, too.

Just beginning to gear up for new season and the boards here. Responding to the cost of Coke etc. Everyday my breakfast is Old Fashioned Quaker Oats. Just a year or so ago I could find the large canister on sale @ 2 for $6 ish. A couple weeks ago I happened to glance at the price at a local Ingles grocery store. One canister was $8.58. Simple rolled oats! I did find it for about $6 at Walmart, still double previous price.

The reasoning was drought in Canada 2021 significantly depressing yields.
Prices / Bu August 2020 $2.64
Prices / Bu April 2022 peaked at $7.95 but trending down significantly with more acres planted in 2022 and better rain.

Since soda sweetener is corn based and the corn belt had less than average rain don't expect those prices to change much.

I mean, it’s nothing to do with Covid anymore (although people are still frequently off for it) but instead just that many people experienced a paradigm shift during that time and workplaces are still adjusting to what happened.

I took 3months off from working out my arms. Picked up my weights and I lost MAYBE 5%.

Of course now my body is going, 'Hey uh, how about some glucogon!'

Mr. Adz goes through a 12-pack carton of Sprite every week and a half. Yesterday it was time to get him another carton. Last time I bought it price was $6.59 (I was appalled) Yesterday it was $8.59 I was honestly not expecting that. I thought $6.59 was the high price!

He may need to just stick to Jack. Ha! (I'm sure it's risen, too)

Never look a gift horse in the mouth.

I thought the megacocktail I got was dislocating my shoulder and the MD gave me demerol and valium.

PLease not, my family has a history of 'functional alcoholism' AKA super livers. Only the hard stuff can phase me. Why I don't drink.

@BigFatCat999 How can a drug cocktail dislocate your shoulder? Did you ask the doc for relief from this pain? If nothing else was working you can't ask for relief AND accuse them of breaking AMA rules when they give you what must have been the only concoction that would work. What do you think the course of action should have been?

I was in the ambulance screaming in pain. Normally I pop it back in.

I don't think I understand what was done incorrectly.

You were in an ambulance, one assumes due to your being in some sort of distress. Was this because of or prior to the dislocation?
The medics/docs gave you painkillers to ease your distress
Do you think you should have been unmedicated or given more of the same meds that didn't seem to be working? Not trying to be contentious, I just don't see the problem.

That was a mistype on my behalf. I got it in the ambulance. The dislocation happened when I tripped on a phone cord and extended my arm out.

Anyone here watched For All Mankind? It's a couple of years old now but my son in law gave it to me to watch a couple of weeks back and I find it excellent. The premise is that of a different timeline, not exactly like Eureka or Fringe but similar. One thing means other things are different, if that makes sense. I'd never heard of it, but that's no surprise, I'm always missing out on shows when they are current.

I want to watch it. But I am kind of trained on binge-watching now. It's kind of like with long fiction book series... I am trying to discipline myself to wait until the whole thing is over. If that's 10 seasons, so be it. Then I can binge all 10 seasons at once some day. :S

Anyone looking to win some Preds signed items, we are doing a raffle for the high school team I'm coaching.

I watched the first episode a few weeks ago and thought it had promise. Then I forgot about it like I always seem to do with shows these days. Thanks for the reminder!

Opening Day we will be in Toronto touring the Hockey Hall of Fame and soon after sitting in a sports bar watching the Preds and Sharts! I plan on doing all this rocking my signed Weber jersey with the A on it.

Canada is home of three of my favorite things, Hockey, Rush and Beer so a good time will be had by all!

When I went to work this morning, the local BP station had gas for $3.69. When I came home, the same station is now $3.99! Other than Hurricane Ian heading to Florida, I don't know of a reason for the jump. I bought gas at my favorite Sam's Club last week for $3.14. That is about 10 miles from home, but only 3 miles from work.

It was $2.92 at my Thornton's yesterday. Probably going to be glad I gassed up!

Update: Tonight it's $3.19 Saved 3.78, enough for a half carton of (mini) Dr. Pepper.
