Yeah, he said they dont make them do the survival course because they assume that if they get shot down or crash they will be dead.

Not exactly what a dad wanted to hear, but I guess it is what it is.

The best thing about SERE is that somebody will smack him around for all of the times you wanted to but couldn't. Camp Slappy earned that nickname.

LOL! I can do a survival course on free video games! Drop me in the middle of Canadian winter with no power. I'm good

Drop me in a Pacific archipelago and I'll build you an eco-resort!

Tell you what between my wife being sick and my in laws I feel like a rented mule after this weekend. I'm going back to Tennessee tomorrow, locking myself in the house and not coming out for a few days. I'm so tired of people.

In the past 7 days we have had 5 celebrations. Mom's birthday, Christmas Eve, 2 Christmas day celebrations with family, then the big celebration with the whole family. I actually looked forward to working today! Now to rest up for the next round -- NYD + a couple of family birthdays.

Our normal Johnson City high for Jan 1st is 47°, Currently it's 77° Previous record high 73°
Hold on to your ... Predicted high Monday after the severe weather 38°

I don’t know who decided to sell foam sombreros in Bridgestone but they’re terrible. I can’t imagine how much worse it is for people who have to try to watch a game sitting behind people who wear these monstrosities.

Took me 45 minutes to get my food at our McDonalds. First time I've ever cussed a fast food worker in my 44 years of life. Least I got the food free.

Every time I see somebody going on about expected goals as a great prediction tool I just think how Wayne Simmonds and Alex Ovechkin have the same all situation xg/60 right now. If only Simmonds got more time on ice. It's the same thought process that has dude at the Atlantic posting how the Granlund and Ekholm signings were terrible deals.

NYD was a record high for us. 78 Previous was 77 I believe.
And now we're supposed to get snow. No surprise. My stupid spring flowers decided last week was the perfect time for them to shoost themselves out of the ground.

How much snow did y'all get?
It's always weird to me when there is snow to the south of me but none here..

In Murfreesboro they had been calling for up to one inch and then up to two inches on the plateau.

At 3am I had a notification updating that to one-two inches. And four inches on the plateau.

Woke up at 6:30 and just measured 5.5" - 6.5" in the middle (off veterans and 96 for those who know the area) of the yard but it's already melting a bit.

5.5" On the deck and table...

We have around 8 inches in Shelbyville. Bell Buckle about 9, but have seen a measurement or two around Deason of right around 11 inches.

Luckily the main roads are OK for now, although with as much water that is standing later on tonight might be fun.

We kind of lucked up. Had it been colder yesterday leading into the storm this could have been snowpocalypse. Instead the roads are fine and we have a nice amount of snow in the yard/trees/etc. All the cool to look at snow without any of the logistical issues that come with 6"+ of snow in the south.

Hopefully this isn't an omen of what's to come over the next 2-3 months though.

Dayum. Glad we missed that. School already missed a week after the tornado.
