That's fine, but Robertson-Johnston could be an even better combo than with Hintz. Maybe not, but I want to see it...
Why? Robertson and Hintz have supernatural chemistry. You don't mess with that for an unknown. And likewise Johnston and Benn have chemistry with Johnston bringing Benn's game back from the dead.

Miro and Harley should not play together, they are our two best puck movers.
Yet when the chips are down those are the two who will play together because it gives the team the best chance to win. So why have all these other steps in between? If Lindell-Nils can be as robust as we hope it can be, you can have a 1st pairing playing major minutes, a strong 2nd pair not far behind and a 3rd pair that you hide and plays minimally.

What if turns from a top 10 line in the league to a top 3 line in the league.

I think what Hintz does so well with his explosive skating is a great compliment to Robertson and Pavelski who both are not fast at all. I don't think swapping him for Johnston would yield as good of results. Johnston has plenty of skill in his hands, but he's not going to fly around and cover as much ice as Hintz does.

I'm talking 5v5, of course. Making the swap on the PP could be fun.

Whenever Pavs retires there will be an open spot for a C/RW but as long as Pavs is around this line is sticking together imho. They've been too good for too long to just switch it up for funsies.

Bruh I’m starting to think you’re not a Leaf’s fan at all lmao. Man wants Dallas #1
Leaf fan in the playoffs. Like to watch all teams/players in the regular season.

It wasn't too long ago Hintz was considered injury prone and there should always be a plan B if offence dries up late in games or playoffs.

I can't believe I'm the only one itching to see those two play together lol.

Benn with Johnston almost looked like he was worth his contract again. We don't want to lose that. Benn is too expensive to be ineffective.

??? Hintz had 24 points in 19 games in the playoffs and would’ve been a lock for conn smythe if Dallas went the distance. I’m not itching to demote our teams best player to the 2nd line at all.

I mean yeah Hintz always misses like 10-ish games a year but so does Matthews and the Leafs sure as hell aren't demoting him for that.

Duchene is a good interview. He has a pretty methodical approach to all of this and he seems really dialed in just based off his interviews. I think he knows this is his best chance to win a cup because if he’s chasing the bag next season it won’t be with a top 5 team. Really hoping for a strong start, and I’m not too concerned about our defense. We have options internally and if those don’t prove to be fruitful we have the assets to shore up the blue-line come trade deadline.

I love how you can really see the approach of 2 guys with experience at centers with different strong sides on every line . DeBoer was also very clear about this in his media availability yesterday.

If we have the luxury to play Harley and Miro together, I'm 100% all for it. I just don't know if we can afford that luxury, at least early in the season. I would love to be wrong.

Plan B if Hintz is injured is to panic and declare the season over.
