deal isn't even done. and the jays had a top 5 farm system, they gave up reletivly nothing in the marlins trade, giving up tda is huge but we still have very good players in gose drabek hutchinson ect in our farm.

Thole would be coming in to be Dickey's catcher. Same reason Boston kept Doug Mirabelli around forever - because Varitek couldn't catch the knuckleball.

He wouldn't come with much value, though.

Well Wilpon only forks money at Wright, so it shows how much their execs want to keep him. It's not a simple "add Wright", no matter how stealthy AA is.

I'm not trolling. But if AA throws in our Top 3 prospects in one deal... you'd expect it's more than Dickey coming back. Much more.

Saying we gave up nothing in the Marlins deal is foolish.

Marisnick and Nicolino are both good prospects and both Hech and Alvarez should carve out solid MLB careers.

If we do this deal, we go from a top 5 farm system to bottom 10. Can someone in TO go find AA and slap some sense into him? It's not worth giving up the entire farm at this point.

From some sources, sure. But no one knows for sure unless you're in that conversation directly.

Everyone will regret trading for Dickey two seasons from now.

i feel before the end of this season we could be saying that. i realize people say he has 3-5 years left... but hes 38 my god.

and im not a keep the prospects type of guy but when you have a top 5 position player prospect you should never trade him for a 38 knuckleballer. that might be biased but dont like the thought of knuckleballers, not many in the league.

Still too many questions.

The Phillies, Dodgers, and Giants may all still be better. Probably missing a team or 2 as well.

I've been thinking about Murphy aswell. You could then potentially flip Boni for something of worth. A good prospect from the Braves system or something along those lines.

Or we could keep Boni and trade Davis for whatever he's worth.
