I know this is a prospect board but AA is going for the WS who cares about prospects at this point.

3:15 pm: The Mets would send Dickey, Josh Thole, and another player to Toronto. Toronto would send Travis d’Arnaud, John Buck, and minor league pitchers Noah Syndergaard and Aaron Sanchez to the Mets (Puma, NY Post and McCullough, Star Ledger).

Things are getting wacky!

Not a chance we are sending all those prospects. We could have our pick of the league pretty much for that. I'm sure that would get us Price out of TB.

AA built the farm system... If he wants to use it to go for a WS why are people complaining?

Saying we gave up nothing in the Marlins deal is foolish.

Marisnick and Nicolino are both good prospects and both Hech and Alvarez should carve out solid MLB careers.

Drabek and Hutchison arent even prospects anymore.

i mean relatively speaking. for instance reyes doesn't equal 2 prospects so we didn't give up a lot of quality prospects for one guy.

so in saying that the un mentioned player is going to be a big player or i really hope TDA isn't involved.

and no there not, there ready to pitch in the majors and there being blocked by potentially 5 people who once in the not to long ago were considered aces or ace material.

If we do this deal, we go from a top 5 farm system to bottom 10. Can someone in TO go find AA and slap some sense into him? It's not worth giving up the entire farm at this point.

Well both Sanchez and Syndergaard won't be in the deal, AA will have to keep one of them. We won't be bottom 10, maybe in the middle of the entire league though because we still have fairly good depth (albeit in the low levels) within our system.

Not to mention we have the #10 pick in this upcoming draft.

Maybe it's:

To TB:
Sanchez
Gose
Osuna

To NYM:
TDA
Syndergaard

To TOR:
Dickey
Price

:sarcasm:

Why? this is what good teams do. Toronto sports fans have been conditioned to always look to the future. To always look for the next prospect. Good teams develop prospects and trade them for established big leaguers to take their shot. This is exactly what AA is and should be doing.

Good Point

I'm going to barf if Sanchez and Syndergaard are involved. If they are then we should get Harvey AND Wheeler

Why would the Mets do that? Let's excercise some common sense here.

I personally think that including Sanchez and Syndergaard is giving up way too much unless David Wright is involved in this and they want to convert Lawrie to 2nd base..........but that also sounds ridiculous.

I know you're kidding, but I dunno if i'd even do that

However:

Price
Dickey
Johnson
Morrow
Romero/Beurhle

:sarcasm:

Do not want. Still hoping talks break down. The upgrade from having Romero as our #5 instead of Happ is not worth losing two top prospects. I wasn't even wholly convinced that the trade was worth it for TDA.
Dickey improves 3 places in the pitching staff.

Our Top-3 becomes stronger. Our #5 becomes stronger. And our bullpen becomes stronger.

I like the move but it depends on what we give up.

I'd still rather just sign Marcum though.
