It annoys me how MLB keeps bringing these issues up at the last moment. Last week they tried to sneak a bunch of stuff past the PA at the last moment including potential rule changes after it was never discussed before. Now they've spent this past week hammering out these issues while getting closer on financials, and then at the last minute the international draft gets thrown in there and QO gets revisited. They've made some decent progress in the past 2 weeks, if only they didn't do nothing all winter and then hope they could solve these issues with 3 seconds left before a deadline.

Instead of focusing on getting a deal done, it seems the owners just want to try and make the players look bad.

Whoever is at fault or more at fault....the sport is actively burning in front of them as they can't for whatever reason just sit in a room negotiate in good faith and get a god damn deal done and instead continue to bicker and argue over how to split up billions of dollars amongst themselves as the world around them falls into a depression/recession along with war breaking out. It is about the worst time for them to show their whole ass like this and not be able to get on the field and play the damn game.

So MLB has gone back to a lockout and deleted the last 3 pages of this forum to remove any evidence of it. I knew I should be worried :sarcasm:

This forum better get better soon. Always seems like there's huge headaches when ''upgrades'' happen

As for the Kikuchi signing. I'm not a huge fan. We have a chunk of our rotation locked in for a while so term didn't seem necessary for the 5th guy but he should be solid enough. Just makes me nervous because I don't really like Kikuchi.

Well, the Jays desperately needed a replacement for Tanner Roark. :sarcasm:

I watched a few of his starts last season and if he’s the same way here, he’s going to be a massively frustrating player. Sometimes he just loses all control and can’t throw strikes.

Maybe my expectations were too high coming out of the lockout, but IMO this signing seems to not move the bar much over Stripling, and it's a rather lengthy commitment.

Wierd i cant sign in on my cpu but my phone works.

Anyways we can hope our pitcher whisperer can adjust and upgrade kukuchi like he has done with other pitchers before

I like the Kikuchi signing. Same age as Matz and got a year less. Big upside with a 95 mph heater. Works with Walker. If he can give you a 2WAR floor then you are happy with that if their upside.

2021 Opening Day Rotation;
Ryu
Matz
Roark
Stripling
Zeuch

2022 Projected Opening Day Rotation:
Berrios
Gausman
Ryu
Manoah
Kikuchi

Our 2022 5th starter might be better than our #2 2021 starter.

2022 Rotation by Nationality:
Berrios (Puerto Rican)
Gausman (American)
Ryu (South Korean)
Manoah (American)
Kikuchi (Japanese)

2 Americans, a Puerto Rican, Korean and Japanese.

A lot of Japanese and Korean fans will show up for their starts. Rogers will make a lot of money

Promise to avoid until he signs elsewhere, please?

Only way I accept this is if we are moving 2 of Biggio, Espinal, Lopez, Gurriel or Smith in a deal for Chapman or Ramirez. Obviously Ramirez will need prospects too

Worth nothing that they Jays 40 man is completely full after the Kikuchi signing. So a trade is coming. And with the Villar talks and how many high floor infielders we have, I bet we trade a few for Chapman and Villar is the backup switch hitter if we get him.

The only possible way I could stomach Villar is as a bench player if the money gets spent elsewhere(Schwarber, Conforto). Ideally they need another starting infielder though

Speaking of Villar, how does a 6' 0" 233lb pound individual steal 62 and 40 bases in a season?
