Imagine we're in a spot where the players union is protecting the umpires jobs. Robo umps were the best of those 4 suggestions.
why would you give the better team a lead to start a game. What a stupid suggestion and something put in to clearly be removed so they could show they are willing to negotiate
I wonder if there's a lot of disagreement among the pitchers and position players about whether robot umps would be good.Imagine we're in a spot where the players union is protecting the umpires jobs. Robo umps were the best of those 4 suggestions.
The players arent going to bend on CBT until the owners give them one ounce of good faith negotiating on it.Still getting nowhere with negotiations. Have all the minor details sorted out but it comes down to the money
Even then. I think it would make the league look like a joke. Imagine a team starting the Super Bowl up a touchdown.maybe they think it will make teams try to get home field advantage and owners will spend more to compete.
I must have read it wrong. Either way it’s an awful idea. My point above is a similar scenario. Just a terrible ideaHuh? It's a series lead not a game lead. Basically, a 2 out of 3 game series that starts with the higher team leading the series 1 game to nothing. As a result, the higher team only needs to win one game to win the series while the lower team needs to win 2 games to win the series. This would mean that the first round series would be at most 2 games with the lower-seeded team needing to win both to advance. If the higher-seeded team wins 1, they advance. The idea of course is to give a substantial advantage to a higher-seeded team, incentivizing owners to spend more on players to finish higher.
Has there been any talk of a cap floor?
Competitive Balance TaxWhat does CBT stand for?
Depends on how much fun you're havingWhat does CBT stand for?
haha i was listening to a podcast and they were talking about about our lineup if we signed freeman and traded for j ram.
assuming that lourdes would be in the trade..
1. springer(r)
2. ramirez(s)
3. vladdy(r)
4. freeman(l)
5. teoscar(r)
6. bo(r)
7. biggio(l)
8. grichuk(or whomever)
9. janssen(moreno)
that top 6 is by far the best in baseball, and if biggio can be more of what he was 2 years ago jeebuz!
its a very very long shot that it happens but mannnnnnnnnnn, thats pure sex.
its insane really lol.
is what the other manager would look like upon seeing that line up !!
tbh i want j ram for the defense and switch hitting ability just as much as his offense, hes a perfect fit for this team(age as well)Like 1 through 8 all are threats to hit the ball deep in that lineup.
I don't think a team actually needs that much firepower lol. Don't sign freddie (him not being in a Braves jersey is just...no, man.) and use the money to make sure the bullpen doesn't implode into a black hole again after 35 games.
A core of Springer, Teo, Bo and Vladdy with decent contributors like Grichuk, Biggio and then maybe a surprise breakout like Moreno is plenty of offense.
Banning the shift lol. Is this professional sports we are talking about? These guys are in the majors but can’t hit the f***ing ball the other way? I’m sorry but baseball is a bit of a clown show
Hitting a baseball in the majors is already hard enough. You think they can just magically guess every pitch is coming so they can hit the ball to the opposite field ? Have you played baseball at a high level before ?

It isn’t ideal but every sport has a rule where you can stand before a play. If you’re in violation then you get penalized.
-NFL: Illegal Formation before the snap (yardage penalty)
-NBA: Line up at Tip off and on the foul line for free throws (other team gets possession and possibly a team foul)
-NHL: Face offs (thrown out the circle and possibly a penalty)
Even other sports like tennis; you’re only allowed to start a play on certain parts of the court when serving and returning.
To me the simplest rule is you’re only allowed 2 infielders on one side of 2nd base and the remaining 2 on the other side before the pitch is throw. And if you violate then the play is blown dead and the batter gets a ball in the count and if it’s done with 3 balls, you get a walk.
