What does the number of time he played "as a non-DH" have to do with anything? DH is a position and he plays it full time. Of course he qualifies as a hitter.
To me it doesn't seem fair that 1 team essentially gets 9 relievers full time because 1 of their starters counts as a position player. I have no issue with him doing both, it's awesome, but anyone who consistently pitches should count as a pitcher for the limit IMO.
