Does Pop make our team? And if so I am assuming mop up duty?

Pop is probably making the team after the last round of cuts. He's not going to be for mop-up though. He has good stuff and was very good last year. If you're basing this on today then that's just an overreaction to 1 bad outing.

The Yankee broadcast sucks. Between them making a bunch of hilarious assumptions about the Jays (my favorite being that they purposely skipped Gausman's start here so the Yankees wouldn't get another look at him when the reality is that they did it to better keep him in line for his schedule start during the season opening series) and the fact that I couldn't not hear them calling their pitcher "Johnny Burrito" it was laughably bad.

Gausman pitched today in a minor league game and threw 90 pitches. Both BNS and Keegan Matheson said the Jays didn't want to have Gausman pitch to the Yankees so close to the start of the season.

Why are we starting the season against the cards? Kind of strange no?

The road trip is because they need to make sure the Rogers Centre is all set after the renos. As for it being vs the Cards... *shrug* the schedule's been rebalanced so things are a bit more wide open in terms of what teams are faced and when.

Last home game of the season. It was good one and weather was great, but even the weekday games are getting a little crowded. Don’t be too good this year.

He won't be mop up, but there are enough good relievers ahead of him that he'll likely be getting pretty low-leverage spots to open the season.

I'd imagine the new $20 general admission tickets will be hot this summer.
I wonder if you'd be able to buy up one of those for a tuesday night game and just sneak into one of the 500 levels that are unoccupied. That'd be a strat I'd be willing to try.

I think the cheapest 500 level seats are only $23 all in of fees. Saves $3, but just mentioning incase you or anyone wasn't sure how cheap the nosebleeds still were.

Looks like Volpe will be NYY's starting shortstop. This is probably the best thing that could have happened for them. With he and Torres up the middle, this could be the most solid their infield has been (in terms of not needing "luck")

Bassitt has been making me nervous

Edit: Sure Vladdy booted a double play ball that would have been an out, but everything is in play.

Maybe he is pitching to throw every pitch, because after the Turner HR, he strikes out the next two.

It's great to get off balance swings, but if they make contact with every single pitch, you are going to get in trouble.

Count me in as someone who thinks Realmuto deserved to get tossed.

Kimbrel demands a new ball after wasting time, gets a new ball, then asks for a new ball a second time and Realmuto moves his glove after asking the ump for a ball.

I have tickets in 209 but I usually sit or stand in the outfield cheapseats. I’m sick to my stomach that I’m not there today.
