If Kikuchi finds his game and Berrios returns to form wow we are looking good with a Ryu possible return later in the summer yikes.
"Yusei Kikuchi, your 2023 Cy Young award winner!!"

I kid. But imagine a scenario where the Jays go to a 6 man rotation to keep all fresh for the postseason?

The tweet earlier about Tiedemann on Manoah’s path is huge too. If your 5 starters are respectable and Tiedemann is ready, you’re set with 6 starters for 2024 and 5 starters for 2025 and 2026 with White, Zulueta and potentially Barriera waiting in the wings.

Only hole next offseason is 3B and LF when Chapman and Kiermaier are free agents. Good problem to have.

It would be a great luxury to have.

It's a shame you changed it. I was going to ask about whether Nylander has enough fastball velocity to fool hitters with his offspeed stuff.

I mean it is a long season. I don't think players having fun should be frowned on. Does there maybe need to be a bit more of a balance then there has been the last two seasons? Probably. That doesn't mean it should or will go away entirely. Just need to know when it is time to turn it on and when to dial it back. Playing the Yankees in September? Probably time to get a bit more serious. The Reds in May? I don't really care.

What I like about his sequences is he starts high, if they don't bite he throws in the zone, they don't don't swing and he gets a strike. Then he goes right back up top as a f*** you. And they can't touch it.. Kids got f***ing swagger with huge nuts. I mean it's the tigers but still I like the mind games!!

Yup. I saw that in the sequencing too. If they don't bite out of the zone, he changes the eye angle for a strike, and then goes right back to getting them to chase his pitch.

Kid's got stuff AND knows how to pitch.

Did not realize after the dumpster fire of a first outing that Zack Thompson actually pitched an immaculate inning yesterday.

A real one, or a "Gameday doesn't track every pitch in Spring Training" one? I thought they had started tracking all the pitches, but I noticed yesterday that they don't (or at least they didn't in that game).
