It's not that we won't pay CBT. It's that we will only pay it for someone that we think will be a difference maker.

If Judge would take something like 3X40, we'd likely be significantly after him as well. The issue with him is likely going to be term and what Atkins is comfortable with. We don't want to be the Philliies.

Not sure we can make our team better than last year with 33million. Teoscar is gone, if we trade a catcher we will still be paying whoever comes back. I’m not optimistic we will be signing any game breakers, we will be digging through the bargain bin hoping to make big on a reclamation project, not impossible that it works out, but I think that’s the market we will be in.

They're in on everyone because that's likely more than enough money to land one of the big names they had their eyes on.

Remember, just because they're tied to everyone doesn't mean they're actively pursuing them. If Joe blow reporter goes "well the Jays want x." it might mean they're interested, or it might mean Atkins and Shapiro were talking and was like "hey what about this guy?" in passing.

Good? He has a lot of upside to be a good value FA signing since his success is only recently.

He has his flaws and the sample size is small, but I would have been comfortable with that contract. The upside is enormous.
