Good news for: Kiermaier, Varsho, Bichette, Chapman, Merrifield, Belt, Biggio, Jansen and Kirk

No Change: Gausman, Kikuchi, Springer, Guerrero, and Espinal

Not good news for: Berrios, Manoah, and Bassitt

Berrios and Bassitt could be a problem. But i take this trade off

Imagine thinking you can look at a guy and watch him pitch a few times and know what his off-field work ethic and dedication is like? Yikes.

Edit: Even better, imagine seeing how it went when that guy complained about Kirk and thinking it would be a good idea to go straight at Manoah with the comments about his physique?

While I agree and love that Manoah has the dawg in him I hope doesn’t go alll stroganoff. This is completely different ofc but I’m still scarred

Jays rank 17th in Keith Law’s farm system rankings
The Blue Jays depleted their system with trades and promotions, down to just the one top-100 guy (Ricky Tiedemann), but they still have a deep reserve of middle-infield prospects signed by their international scouting department, along with a couple of outfielders, who are mostly still unrealized potential and just need to get healthy or gain a full year of at-bats. Tiedemann is the pitching prize, but his teammates at Double-A New Hampshire later in the year, like Yosver Zulueta and Hayden Juenger, could be up sooner as bullpen pieces (even as potential long-term starters).

Pretty fair ranking if you ask me. Maybe even high. Could put the Jays in a 20-25 spot and i wouldnt disagree.

A lot of talent at the lower levels. Will be interesting to see who breaks out this year.
Agreed. I think the Jays farm system has a good chance to be a fast riser in the rankings. The training complex in Dunedin is going to keep paying off big-time. It is making the Jays a preferred destination for young players that want the best shot at reaching their potential.

Well said King

I concur with being a-okay on the 17th rank, we've got most of our core developed already so all we need is for the system to churn out a couple good starters over the next few years and maybe a starting caliber 3B/2B (Addison plz).

Baltimore has a great team prospect ranking but Vladdy, Bichette and Kirk are all younger than Adley Rutschman.

Pretty crazy when you think about it.

I was wrong about Baltimore last year. They proved to be a good team. But they missed a big opportunity this off-season. After selling Mancini and Lopez at the deadline and losing some free agents. To sit here and do nothing of substance outside of Gibson, Adam Frazier, and Cole Irvin, is nuts to me. They had only $35M on the book this off-season for the 2023 season.

They should have been after big arms (de Grom, Verlander, Rodon), Correa, or even a higher floor corner OF. If they did what Texas did, they would be a legit playoff contender.

I know they can still add this late in the off-season but this was an opportunity missed if the continue this path.

Blue Jays signed C Jamie Ritchie to a minor league contract.

The Blue Jays are absolutely stacked in terms of catching depth, so there's virtually no chance of Ritchie seeing time with the big league club in 2023. The 29-year-old backstop hit .242/.375/.283 with zero homers and 11 RBI in 35 games at Triple-A Indianapolis in 2022.

I’ve got to admit I’d prefer it if none of the Jays played in this stupid tourney. I hate it even more than I hate NHLers in international events. MLB players should only be playing for their MLB teams.

I disagree. Representing your country is huge for lots of these guys and with no MLB players allowed in the Olympics, this is there only chance. There is always a risk of injury but that's what contract insurance is for.
