Correct me if I’m wrong but now that arbitration has been scheduled for Bo…the team has a policy that they will no longer negotiate beforehand, it’s now completely up to the arbitrator
Those things are not related in any way. It's a problem with the system, not with Bo or the Jays. Given the system that's in place, the Jays offer seems more in line with precedents than Bo's ask .For those of you that are casting shade at Bo in this Arb dispute. The Jays offered $5mil to a player who slashed .290/.333/.469 with 24 homers, 13 steals and 93 RBIs in 159 games and $4.1 million to a 16 year old in the same week, who's played zero games for the Jays.
$7 mil is not an unreasonable ask.

Bo is entitled to do whatever he wants but his number is not in line with recent precedent and he will likely lose. If he had of played ball he likely is signed at around 6 million. So he will lose his arbitration and principal will cost him around a million dollars. I am sure he is well aware of that and will make it up and then some when he cashes in during free agency. Has literally nothing to do with the international signings. Nothing. For those of you that are casting shade at Bo in this Arb dispute. I get that you're probably just responding to the couple of oddballs who clearly dislike Bo for some reason, but I think the vast majority of the response is as simple as "That ask is too high based on precedent and he probably won't get it." Talking about actual on-field value, Bo would be in the right asking for $25 million. But that's unfortunately not how the system works.I get there is a formula, my comment was more directed at fans that were throwing shade at Bo for being the only player to not sign the Jays offer. I think Bo is in the right to ask for $7mil TBH.
I take this as Bo trying to push extension negotiations.I get that you're probably just responding to the couple of oddballs who clearly dislike Bo for some reason, but I think the vast majority of the response is as simple as "That ask is too high based on precedent and he probably won't get it." Personally, I like when players do this kind of thing. He'll probably end up losing his case and getting $5 million. He could have settled for somewhere in the middle, but he's going to aim high, and if he does manage to win it'll set a new precedent that can have a snowball affect that ultimately gets players way more than the couple million he's going for. I hope he wins because more money going to the players is better than more money staying with the owners.

That's how every arbitration hearing works for every player. Why would his be any different? That’s fine, I just hope the Jays highlight every single flaw he has out on the field during the arb hearing.
This team has always been front of the line when it comes to the Caribbean and South American markets. Goes all the way back to Gillick and Epy Guerrero, although I seem to recall there was a period there (Ricciardi era?) where we decided to pull our scouts and development people out. I think it pissed off a lot of agents and baseball people from there, especially in the Dominican. NIce to see we're investing in these players again now. Maybe the only other team that has a longer history in those areas is the Dodgers.Seems like they signed some promising international prospects.
It is great to see them targeting some OFers, as that has been an organizational weakness for a number of years.Seems like they signed some promising international prospects.
